LNKD just posted a disastrous quarter, with poor revenue guidance and pathetic earnings power. Watch the premium get sucked right out of the shares. This is the beginning of the end for Linked In, an utterly useless for of social media, otherwise relegated to hucksters with profile pictures in suits and cheap ties.

In the quarter, cumulative members grew 19% to 414 million, unique visiting members grew 7% to an average of 100 million per month, and member page views grew 26%. This yielded 17% year over year growth in page views per unique visiting member, continuing a pattern of strong engagement growth over the past several quarters. Mobile in particular grew 3x faster than overall member activity, and now represents 57% of all traffic to LinkedIn.

I knew when my university professor mandated the class create LNKD profiles to help us network that I not only hated my professor but I also hated LNKD.

As long as there are insecure teenagers, Facebook will do alright. You really don’t put selfies and food pictures on LNKD.
LNKD is so 2015 for teenagers. They do Instagram, Snapchat and other things that will appear tomorrow and be gone in a week.
Every time I see a LNKD profile that has +500 connections, I wonder how the hell does that person find time to do all that upkeep? Shouldn’t they be busy working the job they were paid to do?
There was a joke at the New Yorker that if you wanted to write a caption for one of their cartoons, then “I’d like to add you to my LNKD profile” would fit every single cartoon. The best ones are when a human is talking to an animal, or 2 animals are talking.
