Sanders: Screw Wall Street, To Hell with Billionaires

Bernie is that grouchy old man next door that you love. He rants and raves about how fucked up everything is; and you indulge him because of his passion and because it’s humorous. However, if Bernie were ever able to become the leader of the free world, in some sort of twisted perverted way, that might put a different spin on old grouchy Bernie’s spirited verbose.

In his victory speech tonight, Sanders told Wall Street to fuck itself. A speculation tax is coming. Also, he said the word “billionaire” about 10 times, none of which were supported by a positive narrative.

Bernie gets elected: the Dow is going to 5,000.

    As I’ve said here before

Voting will be permitted via smartphone app in the near future. Shortly after that, it will be the only practical way to vote. In fact it may even be necessary to have a social media presence in order to easily vote. A “verified” social media presence may be deemed adequate to serve as voter registration. .

The above will completely change the whatever demographic bias exists now in voting (i.e. turnout percentage and registered voters)

    Second-

Once the above settles, Social Security benefits will become literally “social” security.
I expect a uniform payment to eligible citizens will be replaced with crowd funded retirement support. It would be literally SOCIAL security. In other words, the friends you have amassed through life on social media will be expected to each contribute a few dollars regularly to your retirement funding.

To an older person today this seems crazy and unfair. To a younger person this may make complete sense, considering the social oriented view of living life on a smartphone app.

The only question is the reality of getting older and demographics, as many of us have brought up here before. Will the young be living their lives on smartphone apps when they are over 40? Will the new young un’s be just as enamored with their devices, or will they be into something new?

btw my posts here are fueled by a morning coffee buzz and its resultant momentary motivation to get on the soapbox and op-ed. That’s about it.

Social media and socialism have similar aspects. The social media “we all are in this together, we share, everybody is a star and has a voice” attitude brings a predisposition to socialist organization of a nation’s government. If this view has critical mass and becomes the voting majority, it will happen, pal.

I don’t think the social media crowd has fully thought this through. I’m not motivated to work harder and be more productive if I am obligated to share the result of own efforts with the crowd at large.

I don’t see it happening that way. This social media is a fad. A lasting fad, but passing. Vinyl came back, no? CB radios are next to experience a resurgence – they don’t cause cancer like these cell phones we use to communicate.

Sometimes it’s best not to share. Think I just found the definition of rambling incoherence.

Problem is people my age never saw the negative side of socialism “Mr Gorbachev tear down this wall” Tienanmen square etc, but we were fully aware of the financial crisis from capitalism

Bernie’s problem is the government is the problem

Russia and China were Communist not Socialist during that period. If I were 18 I’d be for Bernie too.

If Bernie gets elected and the markets throw a tantrum, I’ll be buying. Even Democrats aren’t going to bite the Wall Street hands that feed them. Bernie’s presidential run would be notable for a lot of radical ideas that will never, ever see the light of day.

Our political system is designed to make life very difficult for the dreamers, the Barack Obamas and Bernie Sanders of the world. I say bring it on. Bernie 2016. Let a new generation of young kids have their hopes crushed by the system. Then we can go back to electing our usual stooges and all those buying opportunities will pay off.

You know, if you really, really believe that the word “socialist” can be applied to the current occupant of the WH, you’re a cherry-flavored lollypop or you’re so blinded by ideology that you have trouble picking out matching socks.
