Stocks have done the unthinkable: they’ve decoupled from crude oil and reversed an egregious early morning drop. It’s wholly ridiculous, frankly. Stocks should be afraid of crude oil down 6% for the session. Instead of rallying, they should be pondering the ways a bankrupted U.S. oil industry will affect the overall economy.
Nevertheless, here we are with FB and Netflix leading the way towards prosperity.
Tomorrow I am selling out of my final purchase of SPY, done at $185.40.
God it pains me to offer nothing but tales of doom and death to equity buyers. But I haven’t seen anything worthwhile to get excited about yet.

The stocked market will buckle with sub 31 oil.
November 2011 to April 2012 was at the time known as the “most hated rally ever,” as equities climbed away from an unresolved European Debt Crisis.
If we can climb to new highs on ES from here then I reckon this will replace that as the most hated rally ever.
little early?
too early?
too early?
There are always companies and sectors that were once important that fade away into the sunset. Maybe the earl sector is the next one to lose stardom. The stocked market doesn’t necessarily have to go down when that happens. That sector may be replaced with an up and coming new celebrity movie star sector. If that happens, does anyone have any guesses as to what that sector would be?
Maybe some of the earl companies could convert into some other kind of energy company.
I know what you’re trying to do
With all due respect, senor tropicana, why so bearish? The market clearly wants higher. So we can listen to the market, or pretend we can actually figure out the next catalyst ahead of time.
market does nawt want higher. certainly not with a threshold of clearly. maybe it’s being held in place following a short term drug fix, from friday. your listen-to-the-market oh-lets-listen-to-the-market is just gaye
says the perma-bear who obviously can’t identify a change in trend/character because he’s short. I guess we’ll find out who’s song sounds better….
fair enough c24d (extra star wars) nothing established on a clear change in trend at the very least, that statement is just exaggerated anyone here would agree
understood, but I have my own reasons for using the word clear…I watch the action on many stocks very closely, and to me, it’s clear that many of them want higher not lower. And on a macro level let me ask this question, give me a bearish thesis that not every market participant is not fully aware of at this point? We hear it every day.
On the ark now… feel like bluestar
