I just spoke to my voodoo physician, time machine mechanic and technical analyst. They all concur: “VMI is going higher.”
The weirdest, quirkiest guy, my technical analyst, rambled about a “break out above key resistance” and “all stocks at 80—gamble up to 120,” so his “work” says.

As an aside, VMI could also stand for “Virginia Military Institute” a fine state-supported military institution and producer of leaders for tomorrow.
Fly, what kind of oatmeal do you eat? i’m constipated this morning, and the markets usually help it all the time, but I have to tell you not today, getting that bloated feeling, maybe some oatmel might help, ?
FlY…have your man servant slice and dice that data a little thinner…you will find that on a run form 80-100 the most likely win comes between 88-100…within the full range of 40 pionts, the highest win ratio is buying just over 88 and selling just under 100.
Hmm, is it coincidence then that this very morning my technical analyst, an Indian shaman named Chief Screaming Horse predicted that, “VMI holdum 86, then the squaw supported back to 100.”
Old mystics are so funny.
WTF with the volume on the SPY… could they actually be waiting on the details of this communist bailout?
This, by the way, is how we got Jimmy Carter. Whenever the Repubs go the way of the commie, they never get credit for it.
Why?
Because the Dems can ALWAYS out-commie them. That’s their thing, after all.
And whaddaya know… Bush and Paulson suggest a stagflationary “freeze” on mortgage upticks for retard buyers, and guess what? That’s not good enough for Hillary, Obama or Edwards…
Oh no… they want a full freeze on all foreclosures, period. IOW — risk free home ownership for all my friends. And who takes that in the shorts?
Let me guess….
MVIS’ trade setup for the run into CES looks good right here.
Run for this hills if she closes below $3.83.

Jake, the GOP has already been out-commie’d in case you didn’t know. The Dems have been acting up in the Senate.
I see you guys are still working with the old scripts.
The Democrats have done nothing… it’s not like Dems are “left” and Repubs are “right.” It’s a mirage. Just keep arguing like there’s some difference between the two. It’s what they want.
They are both working together to maintain the status quo. Keep buying your big screen TVs and caring about celebrities so that nothing meaningful ever changes.

DT, so young to be so cynical. Wise beyond your years.
Damn. I was thinking about going back to a legal practice of foreclosure work. When I practiced in Miami in the late ’70 the law firm I was with did Mucho $$$ doing foreclosures with a major S&L. For those under 50 an S&L is what they used to call a Savings and Loan before the Feds screwed it up in the mid-80’s, kind of what they are now going to do to the banks IMO.
Get ready for another Resolution Trust Corp. (this time for banks) in about 3-5 years.
Good point, DT.
Everyone please park the politics and watch AAPL.
DT – on the moolah righ there
Jake, is this baliout more commie or socialistic?
I learned it all from the Ray Bradbury book Fahrenheit 451.
-DT
I read the Cliff Notes. My son tells me they use something called Spark Notes these days.
Juice —
I’m often exaggerating when I say “commie.” These moves are strictly socialistic — government interference in the free market economy.
Now, if Frau Hillary ever gets her hands on the reigns of power, this may all change, as by Executive Order she could take the whole shebang “commie” with the stroke of a pen*.

* One of her hubby’s favorite phrases.
It’s Cliffs Notes if I remember right. That Diff Eq book really worked.
If I were to hypothetically quiz my broker — let’s call him “A” for convenience sakes — about the quizzically low volume on the SPYders today, what would my Broker (“A”) say about that?
Bison- It probably was Cliff(s) Notes-I guess I didn’t even bother to read the cover of that either.
Jake,
If your broker was sharp, he’d tell you to look at the price and volume action from September.
-DT
Oh, the volume on the Cubes is 40% of average with less than two hours left in the trading day.
Odd, no?
Like boiling a frog.
What does your third eye see Jake?
You know what I wish I had? A huge short position in the QID’s from the 34…
How about a chatroom Fly… like a realtime thing for us daytraders?
-DT
my astrologers time machine is looking for monster bullish news over the weekend that will grill the most grizzled grizzlies grits
behold, and beware if you are a bear
better hedge with some longside xposure
short VMI 86.26
thanks.
RIMM GRMN look like shorts to me ….. and they are !
A chat room for daytraders would be good. Then we could talk about stuff like a bullish engulfing candle that is hanging on the third long bar four degrees from Saturn.
Fucking chart chompers.
LNN rules! Thanks Fly!

A bit late, since there are no threads in the comments, but I nominate DT for post/point of the day:
“I see you guys are still working with the old scripts.
The Democrats have done nothing… it’s not like Dems are “left†and Repubs are “right.†It’s a mirage. Just keep arguing like there’s some difference between the two. It’s what they want.
They are both working together to maintain the status quo. Keep buying your big screen TVs and caring about celebrities so that nothing meaningful ever changes.”
Amen.
DPeez, to some extent that’s true… politics do not move except by increments — which is a good thing.
But if you think Dems and Reps are after the same things, you’re a damn fool.
Jake:
No they’re not, but the distinction is still relatively small. We tend to think of the two parties as extreme left vs. right, when in reality that’s not exactly the case.
There are no socialist, or communist, or a ‘working class’ party, or a ‘green’ party, or anything else that’s fairly normal in other Western countries, esp. Europe. We have a 2 party system and it’s unimaginable that anybody else would ever come to power.
We could argue the benefits & drawbacks of our political system all day, but it’s undeniable that ‘radical’ change will not occur unless somebody other than a Republican or Democrat comes to power. And that’s why I was agreeing with DT.
Jake,
Did you call me a “damn fool?”
Next time you post in the PG expect a 1-star rating…
DPeez, you get an easy 5.
-DT
Dino, I always expect a “one star” from both you and Bruce,* no matter the merit of my undertaking.

Jake,
I’m not that simplistic. I gave you 5 stars for your poem, which was beautiful.
-DT
DT,
I agree with you but Jake wins this argument hands down.
Now friendly up or I will export coal plant pollution to your doorstep.
Don’t I feel stupid for dumping CFC at 10.45 yesterday.
Not as stupid as I do for buying SWHC @ $9.65
