Big bark, but little bite. There is no well defined eye, and the outflows are loosening. The interior wall broke down this morning allowing alot of dry air in, further weakening the center of circulation. We’ll see. Still some time before landfall.

Someone was asking me why the unholy Mall and office REITs (SPG, VNO, etc) are still alive.
The answer is, they are still hard assets that will retain value in a shit dollar environment, like gold and silver.

caj – CNBC mentioned WM is in advanced talks with JPM to be bought out. BTW WM is nations 6th largest in terms of deposits and they have a lot of branches, real estate, etc. trading at $3 right now. ooops, Faber just said JPM is denying this. Who knows?

I took LM short 4.10-3.50. That’s about all I’ve got that was nice today. A lot headed into this weekend. Ike, Oil trying to break $100, Wamu and Lehman buyout talks, etc. I’m staying cash. SKF’s action has been nuts. I thought I got fucked yesterday..today would have been a nightmare.
Cash seems to be the best thing at the moment.

I’m impressed with the action in GOOG today, I think the stock may have bottomed around the 410 mark.
We’ll see.
Caje– maybe set up for a return to teh $455-460 congestion zone, but “bottom” bottomed?
