BOT. Good spot for this range-bound stock. Maybe this will be the time it finally breaks out? LOL.
OA, $BIDU has been down the past few days due to their earnings report. Do you factor that in for your buy decisions?
I factor everything into decisions. I had to have seen the last few days when I sized up the chart, yeah?
Hope this turd moves. Got soaked on theta decay last couple wks
Ah the Greeks, …….!
The market the last 6 mo has been so ridiculous it’s starting to trick me into thinking I’m a great trader when I really have a lot of stuff to work on…but I’ll take it!
If you’re trend following, you have been doing great.
Sooo many charts with the same or very similar patterns. ATI, ATW already working nicely, stalking some JEC for an entry too.
Loved those NVDA puts as well.
Just don’t see NVDA falling in near term i. both daily and weekly stochastic on bottom..
Those indicators don’t tell you anything that raw price movement hasn’t already.
It’s a crowded name that’s been all over CNBC lately, and sentiment seems to be euphoric. I think it bounces right off old support at 103 and moves lower.
Hope it works for you.. I only pay attention to Stochastics when daily and weekly both are on the bottom.
Not seeing the volume leading another move down. Downward price momentum looks to be drying up
I’m hoping for one final flush to about 168.. then I’m a buyer too.
Not seeing any pick up in bidu volume on any time frame. Performed horribly today.
Thank you Yellen for making portfolios great again.
earnings is 4/27
GLD is not doing what everyone thought it would do…..that is amusing to me
It’s a just a reaction to Yellen. Market clearly had clearly priced the potential for a 4th hike and that uncertainty was removed.
Added to my GDX puts at the close.
thx for cleaning up the comment section here – my apologies for engaging the trash – I was triggered – lol.
Did you add to the March calls you got a few weeks ago or is this a recommendation for a straight BIDU buy? As has been seen – I’ve played it off and on with puts the last few weeks for okay gains – it does look now perhaps like it might finally be ready to rip higher.
It’s another buy. My point was, you jumped in the day after that massive move. Looking at the price action after wards…can you see my point at all? Minimal reward for the risk.
Linmoo – or at least I think that was your name. I mentioned the LULU/TWTR connection in the hope a reader would quickly backtest the idea using the trading machines they use to trade rather than quickly dismissing the idea and using the quick dismissing as a chance to take a jab at a trader and an idea that they apparently know nothing about. I’m not going to pretend there is any rational reason for the connection – I only know that in the last 3 1/2 years I have made around three thousand percent on the idea with TWTR calls the week of LULU earnings – including a thousand percent on the week of LULU’s report in December 2013 – the week TWTR had its epic run.
The connection is an interesting phenomenon not a deeply thought out doctoral investment thesis. You can talk to Doug Kass about the latter. He usually writes a fifteen page thesis for almost every trade he does…and he is almost always wrong.
My realistic thoughts as to why the trade works is that in the earnings cycle – TWTR is usually beaten down to a pulp by the time LULU reports and dip-buyers finally shownup around that time. It is fairly beaten down now and LULU reports March 29. I’ll put a trade where my mouth is and get TWTR calls on Monday, March 27.
thank you z!
OA – I definitely see your point and as mentioned in a previous post – I’m trying to get back into the zone – a zone you are often in – where I am in trades before they are seen by the masses rather than trading for the quick flip gains. Recently I have had more success with quick flip plays rather than longer term thesis trades so that is probably why I have been doing more of the short term stuff.
Hard to pump put buys on a stock that went nowhere, but I hear ya. I just think chasing a huge move like that into the hole isn’t very strategic, or tactical for that matter. The following day from that drop marked the low for a month…i.e. limited downside.
If you had nailed a huge move here, I’d totally get the argument.
Nice thought structure. MFI is below 20, good sign but not increasing quite yet. Chaikins Money Flow is rounding out – decent sign. OBV is decreasing bad sign. Wouldn’t get in until I see some movement in OBV sloping down. Big red volume down on 2/24 the day the markets started to show signs of temporary overbought “topping” signaling most of the selling is over but I don’t see any consecutive days of positive volume. Would personally wait for a definitive trend. If I trusted Chinese Accounting I could make a statement on that but I don’t so thats not even worth considering. Just my personal analysis.
Would probably wait closer to earnings. The chinese seem to like to pump right before earnings.
So you recommend waiting to buy until after it makes its move… I usually try to get in ahead of that.
Yea and sometimes that can happen the same day. All my parameters went positive right when it opened (MFI, CMF, and OBV). Also I didn’t check earnings they already reported with good numbers bullshit or not. OA is the man. Assume this has some room to run from here what not another 5 percent.
Its tough, because those indicators aren’t predictive. Like anything else, they’ve simply analyzed what’s already happened.
OA, BIDU for the win! In yesterday and out today. Thank you! Not going to be greedy and usually not an option trader.
I was gunning for $185, but hey, at least you were there for 10% of the projected move.
Definitely left a lot of $ on the table. Exiting a trade is my downfall. Got nervous and sold BIDU calls this morning way too early.
Impeccable well-timed article on BIDU.
Yet another sick call by OA
Ooops…guess I should have bought BIDU yesterday rather than waiting for an additional couple buck drop.. Just have to take comfort in my YY, WB, and SINA positions. But, ain’t lyin’, it hurts every time I peak at the BIDU quote.
Added to YRD
Got stopped out but looking to re-add if it stalls out here
