I really like the crude set up here too. Cleaned out the ranged stops into a high volume node of support. Added to $XOP today. Indexes are definitely ready to bounce too.

Easiest spot to get long. That was a forced running of stops. This is the easiest stuff to buy into, IMO.
The tape does “feel” like a running of stops. Nice and steady, except the close, which saw a strong enough sell-off. If we gap down tomorrow with little selling pressure, I may consider a BTFD trade but I need to see participation in the move first. IMO the problem with the bull direction now is that the largest volume profile is below the current price. Hence market makers have quite an incentive to pull the rug under the tape now. I am bias because I am currently short SPX with a 2X bear ETF. But my bias will change if the conditions change.
Also Gartman is still long stocks so it is another valid reason to stay short.

Dragun – many times Jeff will mention it in passing. Once he does a deep dive on a trade idea or a market, he won’t dwell on it for more than a 30 seconds unless someone on the call has a specific question. WRT gold, I think the last major time he discussed was on 3/2 when he mentioned that gold broke the trend and is a confirmed short
Once the idea is discussed, we touch on it briefly each day and follow up on the idea to help folks manage it.

All the articles I see right now are:
– Market at lofty valuations.
– Pensions and institutional investors have to buy bonds and bonds will be bought up as far as the eye can see.
– The consumer is running out of money and stimulus will be needed to fill their pockets.
– Fund managers are looking outside the US for purchases, US equities too high
– Share buybacks have fueled valuations and are a detriment to the companies that do it.
Isn’t this the definition of aversion?
