I don’t generally like big market days like this. Nothing stands out. Everything is up a little.
While most pray for big market moves, I prefer my Dow 40 days. Slow markets make fast stocks more prominent. They get more attention and action as opposed to in big market moves like this.
Speaking of big moves like today, it feels like rotation is underway a little. Last week, my stocks were stuck in the mud, except for the China stock rippage early in the week. I wonder if this is where growth stocks slow and value stocks pick up the slack.
As the week wore on, my revenge trades imploded. Like Richter Scale imploded. Today, my next favorite stock ($TWLO) is getting Harambe’d. Not to mention my $TWTR starter woke up to an epic gap down.
Suffice it to say, rhythm has been officially thrown off. Assume all your favorite stocks are about to break your heart.

Wearing my balls as a hat right now. Look at the carnage over the last few days, TWTR, FIT, FEYE, VRX, TSLA, ACIA, TWLO. Looks like a full rotation into big cap growth AAPL, SINA, FB, AMZN etc.

You coached me out if beta and into the boring stuff expecting some Oct chop. I figured we’d have better luck in risk reset names. $sbux, $crm, $wba, etc. oh, and of course $twtr, oh well.

The question is why so much attention and rumors with Twitter? Is it being held by too much retail so this was an easy fleece?
Held by retail? So they were holding before the run up and it’s assumed they are still holding?
Why was it a fleece? I must be missing something here. Not sure how retail is relevant.
Twitter has always been in the news. I remember when they kept raising the value of the company pre-IPO. It was ridiculous. They kept delaying the IPO in order to hype it more and more. Similar to Uber. Then it went public and has been junk ever since.
The rumors are nothing unusual. They pull this shit regularly. The only reason they are talking about it so much is that Twitter is media that everyone has heard of. It’s high profile.

Bought some Wing.
I only bought a 1/2 size $TWTR position, anticipating the possibility of future weakness. So I forced myself to buy more right here. I understand how the report of “likely no bids” would send a stock from $25 to $20. I’m not quite sure I think a “we also heard that there would likely be no bids” report should send a company from $20 to $17. I sized to survive if I’m wrong, but still notice if I’m right (which shouldn’t really be news – that’s normally what I do).
Had to sell CRM here for a modest gain. I can’t discount the possibility that their fucked-up CEO might try to acquire twitter. Sucks, because other than that I love the profile.
I sold yesterday and bought back in this morning.
Hasn’t Benioff been kicking ass for shareholders for years? Now he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Funny how that is.
In the long run, maybe it makes sense to acquire TWTR. I don’t know. Looking at how the stock has responded though, it would crater if such a bid were to be made.
