I kept it all – I was planning to sell half but had Physical Therapy and just forgot to do it before the market closed. Here is crossing my fingers. I have accumulated a large position in FEYE so glad to see OA give it a little boost today.

Hey tool. When I was a PM there was a turn date of 2/27/2007 and it nailed the peak in Sub prime and the credit markets to the day. I sold all the financial stocks in the portfolio and slowly turned the portfolio defensively. We nailed it. When we went into the downturn we crushed our peers. Then we got bullish. grew our business and took it form $5 billion to $14 billion and now I am on Maui. So blow me. Also his turn dates nailed the 1987 peak to the day and the Nikkei to the day in 1989. Not every turn date is meaningful but if you had a brain you would pay heed and respect.

Martin is better in hindsight for the major 8.6 year turns and longer term thesis. With all the “cycle inversion” and “superposition” and what not it can be hard to really know what the turn date means. 2009.3 or whatever was a bottom in the markets but a high in the ECM (and significant high before a downtrend in the dollar). 2011 was start of the parabolic top in gold but the actual top was months off from 2011.45… So… If you come up with a date you can always point to something somewhere in the world that turned or did something that resulted in a turn but is it actionable? Not until you can look back and figure it out after the fact and THEN begin to act on it.
It is interesting and impressive, but I don’t entirely understand how to interpret it… Maybe when his computer goes public and he has a few books out it will make more sense to me,

It does not mean that the stock market will crash next week. What it means is that there is a chance that some trend in the flow of international capital will shift. It could be a currency or some bond market. It will affect the flow of capital which may or may not affect the the US stock market. The turn is actually an upturn in the economic confidence model next week. Who knows the stock market could begin the phase transition melt up. The point is be on the look out for a change in the flow of capital. Martin in his blog is cryptic but seems to think it will usher in volatility.
Don’t forget though, the “market” has not melted up since SPX hit 2000.00, just our stocks. Sometimes it’s easy to think the entire market is ripping when your holdings are on fire.
When Carnac the Magnificent ( who precisely predicted the crash of ’29 and ’87 ) was queried regarding these predictions he responded ” may a thousand fleas lay eggs in their armpits “

I ran into a brick wall until my forehead was bloody and someone gave me my first job on wall street. Once you are in its up to you to make it work. Persistence and passion are key. Good luck. Why don’t you start a company with no revs and get rich the easy way?

If Dragi makes a positive announcement Thurs that may be your shift in trends. Capital may leave U.S. for Europe but our markets will also benefit sending us to new highs to complete the current Primary Wave3. Then a nasty correction.
Until that happens, we will see SPX 1975-1985 soon (starting today) then those new highs I mentioned above. The last hoorah for a few months as my wave guy sees it.
