Weekly calls helped set the weekend off on the right foot. These calls that were bought earlier this week under $2, are now trading at $18.
As a reminder, I will post a video in place of my appearance on After Hours with Option Addict this evening. Those that could attend stopped by for a market hours webinar this afternoon.
Keep focused on that watchlist I posted yesterday, as it will be our focus on Monday.
Also, I am going into PCLN July calls here into the close.
Enjoy the weekend, holler at me if you are in Vegas.

nailed it
salvaged week with AMZN. proves the point of not needing to win often, but managing losers and allowing the big winners to more than offset losing positions in the long run. Have a good weekend. May the solar sun shine all next week!

Logged 10 of the PCLN July 1250s here myself. Need this one next week, missed AMZN.
it seems like it makes a decent move prior to earnings, and then a week or two before reporting, you get some profit-taking…and then earnings can be a wild ride, especially after hours. If that holds true, the rest of July should be nice.
with you on the 1250s @ 3.90
Let’s ride these to 7.00 or better next week!
I don’t have as many riding as you, but I’m with you 100%. giddyup
OA – booked a 610% gain on AMZN today – I need to work on my entry point
Thanks!
D*mn day job got me out at 14.30 but considering I got in at 1.35 . . .
Nice trade! Love to see others kill it.
I booked 1400% on my 332.5 and 300% on my 340. At 8:45AM on Friday. That took a little bit to recover from, because it’s the second time that’s happened to me, with AMZN, in the last 2 months, lol.
Was really hoping to see Bluestar’s logo as the picture for this inevitable post
Held back….
Well I don’t usually scale out but I couldn’t sit on my hands up well over 1000%
Was in AMZN with 1.42 avg.
Out 1/3rd @ 17.10
Out 1/3rd @ 18.1
Final 1/3rd out @ 17.6
That makes it the 3rd 1000%+ trade this year (YELP,GMCR), the 4th since December (TWTR) and the 5th the last 2 years (GLD puts in April)
!!!!!!!!
Long live AMZN!
There should be a Hall of Fame, and a Hall of Shame…with she who shall not be named headlining the latter!!!
Very well done, good sir
appreciate the bounce but weekly charts look like shit now……..
what are you specifically looking at? Have you joined AHWOA, yet?
frog, that’s called Aversion. Your honest display of exasperation tells the rest if us that we’re right on target…
plus you got your PPT oversold readings. This is a great spot to take action. How can you just sit there on the lily pad of fear?
haha, I see what you did there. spent a split second wondering where in the world you came up with lily pad of fear…and then..rrriibittt.
All is well Frog. Ribbit.
yoshii & ts – I don’t think he’s gonna jump….until after the bloop.
@bchu, is YGE in your solar ETF? and what’s the forecast look like for next week?
A week of hard lessons. I’m a better trader for it.
Followed PCLN 1220s at close
Sold GLUU today for a 42% win in my mom’s retirement account – would never have even known about that stock if not for this service
Bought CVS and INO at the close. Have a great weekend!
OA, after posting on another ibankers recent post (whose initials are ironically relevant to his posts…think about it), and then I came over here to see this beaut of a post. Well done, good trade, wish I was involved.
You may say long live AMZN, I say long live those on ibank who post their actual trading recommendations and don’t hide behind the vale of “I didn’t say to short that day” defense.
You could have been wrong, and in the past when you were wrong, you admitted it. Then made it up by giving your users (clients) great trades. Making me regret the fact that I havent signed up yet.
Keep at it, and thank you for being pragmatic, honest, and sticking your neck out. There is little worse than the prototypical pundit tactic of posting a verbose short (or long) post on a stock, only to back away weeks later when they are so clearly wrong (as you know who has done).
Have a great weekend
What are you waiting for? Both of OA’s services are priceless.
Good question Quality, as stupid as it sounds considering the quality of OA’s rec’s, I rarely pay for 3rd party research considering the firm I work for pays exponentially more for “top tier” research from institutionally focused shops that charge an embarrassingly high fee. A lame attempt at rationalizing my thought process I know, especially considering OA charges hmm maybe 0.01% of what they do. We pay them through commissions so its a different structure, but clearly shows the value prop here (and I don’t think I’m alone here in saying that it’s not just individual investors who use this site/service).
In other words, I have no damn good reason for not becoming a premium member other than my misplaced hubris and the fact that I’m cheap.
Is your firm up 200% on the year? Some of us are…
(trying to temp you more, haha)
No we are definitely not…to be fair, many of the trades recommended here wouldn’t work for very large accounts, due to liquidity constraints and the amount of risk one would have to take in terms of position size. But, point taken. There are no good reasons why I haven’t joined yet in terms of my PA (personal account).
indeud. srsly. simple math.
Just read your comments. Rare to come across feedback like this here, so thank you for taking the time to write it. Much respect.
I really need opinions about buy or rent own condo. could we talk about ? Thank you.
question to all… if one were bullish on RIG long term, what is the option strategy? I’m thinking ITM. Tnx.
Is it wrong to be this excited for the market to open?
closed TVIX here pre market -2 pennies. Could be setting up to be a nice week for the bulls. I still thing the months end is going to be crucial for the IWM and the current trend.
as an outsider – Im watching and trying to learn – so the play this week is PCLN 1250 calls that exp today?? last trade 3.40 correct??
The calls expire on Friday, not today – that should make the trade make more sense
I knew they exp on friday’s..but saw the chain on CNBC site and it said 7/14 (wtf?) thanks for the clarification
I am the king of the idiots – no costanza – its JULY 2014 (not july 14th) I am both humbled and embarrassed – what a douche!! Carry on
Ducckkell this particular one does display a little confusing, as this weeks “weekly” option happens to also be the regular monthly option that is often listed as July 14. You just haven’t run into it before. Now you have….
That is not something to be embarrassed about – you asked for clarification on something that made no sense to you – I have stopped trying to explain options to people because they are sure I am just meddling in the dark arts
Duck – No question is too stupid here when you are learning. We all continue to learn, even those of us who have been doing this for years. You will find the vast majority of people here are so very helpful. Guys like OA, and UncleBuccs have been a big help to me and this ain’t my first trading rodeo. I came here as I was losing and losing big. Things are turning for the better now. Sometimes we all need direction. We hope you stick around!
thanks guys!!
if by stroke of genious you took the trade, you’ve got enough gains on this initial move to pay for a subscription many times over. Hope to see you in the group soon.
was afraid to buy at open because of the move…is it too late at 5.60?
OA generally states that you shouldn’t chase – if you want to get in, wait for a pullback at the very least or look for another stock that has yet to pop – look at the watchlist that was posted here last week for ideas.
don’t buy now. there will be other trades to take.
you might paper trade some things too, if you are fairly new to the options game. It can be very unforgiving if you you just go willy nilly and don’t really know what you’re getting yourself into.
I understand the options trade, what I cant figure out is when a stock is ready for a breakout (or collapse for that matter) – seems if I find a stock – I can channel trade it for profit but can not find one that moves precipitously either way with my knowledge to trade the option and make money
the breakout trade/big move trade is what we generally target here. Identifying the setups and understanding which options to use to profit from big moves, is all a part of what we learn in After Hours.
Go back an look at the watchlist post (it is the third option on the right hand side at the top of the page. That gives the basic information on what we have currently been watching – many of these have already moved. If you want more information, I suggest getting a 1-month subscription to get more information to see if it is worth it for you.
stock closed at 1214.92
me love me some KNDI bustin’ a move!
I sold my KNDI 15’s last week on the pop…..should have held on.
This move probably pulls back, but I’m hoping to sell some calls against my position here, and either get called out or pocket some premium.
Yeah – price action in KNDI is almost like clockwork – big pop, fade through the day.
YELP- bought a small position here. July 71’s.
Nice – starting to move here
Annoyed I didn’t buy DANG calls on Friday
Crap… Was hoping for a lower open in Monday and maybe Tuesday so I could load it up… Now I have to find stuff on watchlist that hasn’t surged…. like TSLA…
I was thinking the action today is good because not everything is blasting off. There are some laggards, and maybe there aren’t as many lagging from the quality watchlists bunch, but there are others down the list of rotation that we should be able to swing into after some profits from the 1st round. At least, I’m hoping that’s how it plays out.
Good action, but I decided to sell TNA on Friday so I would have cash to buy up a lot more today and tomorrow because I had a lot of names. I could have waited and still sold first thing this am so in hindsight it was kind of a dumb move.
A large part of this watchlist I can’t take credit for but added a few names to OA’s watchlist and it’s just rippage all over.

$TSLA ripping
I thought that was going to be a sarcastic remark when I read it, but you’re not kidding.
Picked up TSLA July 225’s this morning for 1.5 – may be my best trade this week
having a nice day but i’m too overweight in solar.
that said, a solar lift off and i’ll be filming my own rap music video.
I would like to see a wiping of the toilet bowl with your shoe, some dancing down the hallway, some swiping of water bottles, followed by breakfast and a twitter bird please.
SUNE just turned.. Get your rap video started.
been off the grid for the last few days – catching up on recent recommendations…picked up TSLA July 230’s at $.69 and DDD July4 60’s at 1.15
Missed AMZN though – amazing trade guys!
Out PCLN 1220s @ 21.4 from 12.8 bc I’m at the beach and I’ll take 70% in an hour
DANG 12s in at .40 last week and out at $1.20. Looking at getting rid of my SUNE $25 calls and CRM $55s are just turning the corner.
I’ve been saying “Keep calm and YOLO” all day today.
CYOU is right on the verge. c’mon now little fella.
TSLA intraday chart is looking good – need some pent up energy to push it over 230
