If there is one thing you should be doing tonight, it is this. You should be creating three individual lists right now.
The first list should be a buy list. These are stocks you feel are buyable for a trade. This might include stocks that have held up well recently that are nearly actionable. Focus on stocks from solid performing groups, such as financials, energy, semiconductors or select industrial stocks.
The second list should be a fire-sale list. These might be stocks you could invest in for awhile. Stocks that will be a good core to trade around over the next few months or year at minimum that have been severely over discounted in the short term.
The last list should be a list of “asshole stocks,” These are stocks that you are drawn to, like catfish internet predators, who are trying to lure you in with a fake avatar and a weakness to your glowing personality and lonely online classified advertisements. These should be stocks that trade with no soul. The stock you can’t look away from, but are losing in every single attempt at trading it. For me, I have a list of “asshole stocks.” They are as follows..

2008 – HANS
2009 – TOL
2010 – X
2011 – BIDU
2012 – FB
2013 – NFLX
2014 – Everything

2014 – Too many to list, but I would defnitely start asshole stock list with AAPL
I would have to say LNKD is shaping up to be my #1 on this list.
After the Thanksgiving AAPL trade I have just lost the battle every single time…love the location, love the cheap calls but can’t seem to time it well…
I’m starting to think that I’m the asshole for trying to trade this market. Bought GOGO today again at the closing bell today.
LNKD has been a disaster every time I’ve traded it. Also YGE, after blessing me with 700% returns the first time around, I have since given back all those gains and MOAR trying to catch the next “leg up”.
I’m not sure what category they fit in from the lists above, but I got all these today I want to keep them for a long time: NTN NUAN MSO AA and I have NURO and ELON CPL on my list for tomorrow. Please give me feedback if you have time OA, even if its just to say “those all suck” haha, thanks.
That CPL looks amazing. I think anything foreign is a decent mid to long term swing here.

The printing material has to catch up with the printer before lift-off on the 3D arena. BIG plans ahead $GE for example will be building engine parts and are working on materials now.

My asshole stocks are the ones within their industry that have under performed their peer group over the last 20 years. Repeatedly disappointing the masses. Stocks that have traded at least 5 or 6 times the price of where they are now and have continued to stay down at the low end.
They suck, even when they seem to be doing well and if you dance with them you are most likely to get stepped upon. RAD, GERN, HOV, SFE, CDE, ALT, MTU, SYNM, BLDP, ERIC, STEM.
Look at them on a 20 year chart. You can trade around them but they always end up going down or nowhere.
ALT should be ALTI

@gator and jacked, I wasn’t telling you about bad trades. I have made money on all of these except ALTI and SYNM over the last 20 to 25 years. Some of them like RAD, HOV, SFE, BLD and STEM multiple times. What I was pointing out was their 20 year History. Please look at a Monthly 20 year chart to get the picture.

biffer, I know I’m in the same boat. I’ve been looking at my journal since starting options and my trades have completely clashed with my trading style.
My problems have been 1) focusing on being right than making (and keeping) money, and 2) not being able to find a trading style that’s repeatable.
Hmm, went long CTRP 47.35 yesterday and also picked up Apr 52.5 calls. Stretch target is 65.5 (inv H&S measured move) but 56 and 61 more realistic. Thoughts OA?
