Under the circumstances, this is an important day. Value is clearly migrating lower in stocks today. No sign of any big buyers yet, unless of course you are trading or invested in riskier equities here, which are so very impressive.
If you take into consideration, the last 3 months of trade, we were killing the market with these same stocks in September. All while the market traded lower for three straight weeks. When we bought the dip in October, I encouraged my readers to remove themselves of these stocks, and even encouraged many to short these stocks, as I claimed the market would demand quality and rotate out of these names.
As of two weeks ago, I pounded the table to buy these stocks. We started with monster gains, then gave some back as this idea has taken time to pan out. However, it is clear, that despite market weakness, these stocks are clearly outperforming again. It’s this repeatable pattern I am loaded up on and trying to capitalize on into year end.
I promised that TWTR would be the ultimate “chase” set-up once it cleared $42. This is my second largest position (basis $41ish) next to $FSLR. If you want my take on where it is going, read: http://ibankcoin.com/option_addict/2013/11/18/weekly-watchlist-13/
Cheers,
OA
Solar down on SOL earnings, China needs to take the Space Cannon to names like LDK, SOL, STP so their shitty news can stop blowing this sector up.
OA would you cut YGE here? or give it room to 4.95ish?
Cut here? Why?
JASO and YGE both have the descending wedge pattern that has worked for OA so many times this year. I’m staying the course.
“Year of the wedge” OA thongs on sale soon!
LOL
Somebody here made some good money on LNKD after that $4-$5 down day when the trade was discussed. Congrats. Wish I’d have participated.
Yea, myself and I think lanforce took that trade. I kind of wish I would have bought some more time as it looks like it’s just starting the breakout. In the 220’s @1.45, out @6.10. Had to close it today because I won’t be around tomorrow.
Good closeout…the market seems to give and take pretty quickly in some of the big names right now. That’s not to say its wrong to hold over for some gains, but nothing wrong with capturing some quick profits. well done.
I got in it as well. Sold for 150% gains.
me too..Thx Jeff
I put on a weekly 215-210 spread when it was at 216. Closed for a nice profit this morning. I still have a 225-230 spread I’m holding.
u also pounded the table with apple at $500 that it would be the hardest long of the remainder of the year..what?
don’t forget to also mention your misses, it will add to your credibility..
will…think you are inaccurate on the AAPL analysis…very much no what Jeff’s approach was
go back and look at the archives.. it was repeatedly said in vids and such..i was there
Jeff has been saying that the returning confidence will play out… he said it will be hardest when it was in the aversion stage
I said at $400, that AAPL would go immediately to $500 and stick there for an extended period of time. That was one of my best calls this year. It worked as diagramed.
Not to forget, I’ve booked well over $40k in AAPL this year. Don’t talk down to a man who’s “misses” are better than your wins.
I do not get people. You guys give a service here that beats the hell out of mutual funds. When anybody is 100 percent accurate, they have room to talk. Keep up the great work!
We appreciate your efforts.
no one is saying that. what i am saying is that i only see the boasts and chest pumping when hi is right and uber defensive when people question. go back and read some of these threads. if you follow blindly, good luck to you..when he moves on, u will be lost.
and u are right JK, I don’t have those returns OR drawdowns either, I am up a little over 37% this year with a draw down from peak to valley of a little over 5% all while risking 1R
37%. Now I understand your frustration.
WOW!! All I will say.. i see all these guys posting when they take there losses and fist pumping on their gains. It is up to the individual to have an exit strategy.
I’m frustrated with just 250% in over 6 months! lol I love it here, but some things will never change…people will always look to lay blame elsewhere rather than holding themselves accountable for the trades they make. OA has made it clear he has losses but due to money management the wins exceed the losses…who wouldn’t want to celebrate the wins rather than dwell on losses…cut ’em short and move on to the next one. “next play” as they say. live and learn to play another day.
I just stuck my toilet plunger in will’s face.
typical JK. never wrong and always quick to fall back on mine is bigger than yours..a shame, when u could just call it like it is!
Will, why do you care? Add value or don’t clog up the chat. He said AAPL would go to $500 and then it would be a difficult trade, which it was. He never said to short it. There is a difference between being wrong and not being in a trade. Not possible to nail every move on thousands of stocks out there. As you were…
I bought AAPL in October, and here just three weeks ago too. But nevermind that part.
Jeff K has never ever said his is bigger than anyones….check the archives
i’d imagine that win alone is greater than a lot of account balances. lol
You see the Sethster is now asking people to wish him luck on his VXX calls. I couldnt stop laughing when I read that.
they’re dirty from the ashes of my chewy VXX puts.
so much of what OA is trading and the strategy, (perhaps equally if not more important), is working. A lot of my positions have been working their way through the process and/or in the money and a few months ago I likely would have capitulated on a number of them as they probe lower and inevitably bounce back after flushing out the weak hands.
So for you to focus on what you think are the shortcomings of the strategy, or missed calls or whatever, just makes you look like a sore loser.
I’ve drunk the kool-aid – it tastes sweet and it f*%kin’ works dude!
My two cents.
shut up.
NFLX is at a decent spot…maybe a buck lower to play the bounce.
Might try next DEC2 370’s if it comes in a little more.
What do you think about FTNT here?
Took small position in Dec. 18s I like that overhead structure, and easy to manage below.
Options in CZR, C, FB, LNKD, VJET, VMW, YGE, CTRP, TWTR, WLT YELP, FLSR, CLF, APOL, SPWR, GRPN, JASO… not wrong yet tho, well, maybe on a few of those.
ONVO looking pretty good here?
If I did, I would dip in with DDD and/or SSYS as well. Hope that one or both can catch fire. Although those other 2 are down today, that’s a little of why I like them going into tomorrow/next week maybe a little more than ONVO.
Looks like I was wrong here…oops.
give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime
That’s what I like about it here, and hopefully that’s what people who come here are picking up on. Anyway, I like how MA has managed to hold on, SO FAR, to some gains today. I like it in this spot, tight stop, otherwise it tanks to 725-740 range if the market falls and brings it down.
Josh Brown once tweeted “PREDICT THE FUTURE FOR ME THEN YELL AT ME WHEN I’M WRONG!”…there’s great advice on these blogs, but have your own game plan, tailor the advice to your own needs. Recognize the alpha being created, add value, do your own due diligence, other platitudes…
Josh Brown’s Brother, Charlie Brown once tweeted this:

but then again, he wasn’t much of a trader.
I’m having a monster day Jeff; my membership would be about .001 of my gains…lol
So worth it; is YGE and VJET still good?
Love those two.
Great work, Danny.
$50k cold killer
Soon to be considered the ultimate YOLO of all time!
Long VXX 50.5 Calls expiring tomorrow paid 7 cents!
R u srs about this
you bought ’em off me. thanks for the 7 cents.
hahahah chewy!
clarify seth…. paid meaning that’s what it paid out as in you sold them? Or paid meaning that is what you paid.
hes jus trollin i bet
I spent 7 cents for the calls. And I am not trolling.
Tsl and yge on a slow death march
You should stop trading solar.
Should I send help?
Jerry Roberts aka “Will”,
Too funny pal. I love that you are still here reading, despite the fact that I fired your crippled ass the day after we launched here.
Keep reading my blog “Will” while trading inside the walls of a vagina.
Asshole.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
+1 classic
God I love this site!!! OA you are the man!
I think “will” wasn’t getting about the AAPL call that originally BEFORE it made the move to 500 and set up state of aversion so quickly is that OA called the move higher and expected it to be rangebound longer than it was, BUT immediately recognized it was “aversion” and called the K-Fin bottom as she was so frustrated she couldn’t take waiting around for the “Icahn trade” to work out. He recognized the timing of his prediction was off and that it would go higher now, rather than waiting until 2014 to bottom.
Understandable how he may have missed that part. I think OA has been very transparent about his book, although yeah, I suppose I could see how some random rookie to trading over enthusiastic about hearing about some of the 500% returns could immediately go and put 20% of his account on YOLO trades and lose it all, but for everyone else that has followed OA long enough, they are very well aware of the risk management required
For those on the AH call when we were discussing PBYI, here is the relevant info:
There were 115 patients assigned to neratinib in the trial, including 65 patients who were HER2-positive. For the patients in the trial who were HER2-positive (including those who were either hormone receptor-positive or negative), treatment with the neratinib-containing regimen also resulted in a higher pCR rate compared to the control arm. The Bayesian probability of superiority for the neratinib-containing regimen is 95.3%, which is analogous to a p-value of 0.047. In addition, the Bayesian predictive probability of showing statistical superiority in a 300-patient Phase III randomized trial of paclitaxel plus neratinib versus paclitaxel plus trastuzumab is 72.5%. Based on the results from the I-SPY 2 TRIAL, neratinib is now eligible for the upcoming I-SPY 3 Phase III trial.
Full results of the I-SPY 2 TRIAL for PB272 will be presented at a future scientific meeting.
The I-SPY 2 TRIAL is a collaborative effort among academic investigators from approximately 20 major cancer research centers across the country, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Quantum Leap Healthcare Collaborative, and the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) Cancer Biomarkers Consortium. Major supporters include The Safeway Foundation and the Bill Bowes Foundation.
The trial enrolled patients who had a high risk of relapse using up-front tumor profiling (including tumor size, hormone receptor status (HR), HER2 status, and the MammaPrint 70-gene signature test).
Evidently, this is a molecular level adjunct treatment to be used in conjunction with traditional chemotherapy.
The company had a con-call yesterday about this trial. You can listen to the re-broadcast by following this link:

ummm… can you repeat the part of the stuff where you said all about the things?
