Repost from RSH thread (OA always changes the thread JUST when I’m feeling poignant):
Mentioned in other thread – good entry point for CLF and also APOL. For those who are new here or not in the trade – here is the last time a large group of us was in APOL…

WLT and ANR don’t look too shabby either in terms of entry points.
Snagged some DEC 9’s this morning.
and YGE looks very good here
Bought YGE yesterday and doubled up today ;-> So did Rajun Cajun I believe.
Anybody else in the APOL DEC 27’s?
I’m in the 28’s
Hey Jeff. What do you think the impact of a major interest rate shock will be on banks and FNMA?
Do you own FNMA?
yes I own FNMA from 2.50
Actually the curve moving up will be good for banks and their NIM.
Anyone still in the VMW calls? OA, would you call this broken?
A lot of us got out yesterday when it had that strange sudden sell-off. Or this morning.
anyone keeping the AAPL yolos into tomorrow or closing down today?
unfortunately i bowed out around $3.75
well done if you are still holding on to them.
sold mine at $4.50 – hit my target so locked it in.
which C Dec 52.5 did you buy? The 06, 13, or 21?
usually if someone doesn’t specify the expiry date, it’s the normal monthly ones. Not the weeklies. So in this case, it’s probably the ones that expire on the 21st.
Just the month means the standard expiry which is always the 3rd Friday of the month.
Well… technically Saturday but market is closed
Anyone like KNDI here?
Common or calls. Calls seem kinda hard to play on this stock.
Common.
KNDI I’ve been watching and/or daytrading for six months. For whatever reason it just can’t get out of that trader’s stock position. Money enters only to be snatched back a few minutes or hours afterwards or the next day.
I chickened out and rather than hold overnight going into the last day of option expiry, sold the AAPL calls at the close for $4.05.
300+% is greaat tho!
🙂
I did the same thing on AAPL calls- have had a tendency to hold too long recently and miss a good exit so locked it in early. Great call OA!
could always just roll some up to the 530s with the profits just in case you didn’t YOLO enough
XONE high short
$NUAN -28% YTD. Carl Icahn added another 66% to his stake (now 52 million shares) almost 10% short interest. Double bottom off 15.40 maybe a rounding bottom. I think it could run up quite a bit in the next couple months. Especially if Mr.Icahn does something.
I agree. I’ve been in NUAN all week and it’s treated me nicely. I didn’t even know Icahn was in it. Thanks.
Okay team, Jeff, I just found out that I made 406 trades this quarter! Totally shocked. (if one does the math that is a hella lot of $$$). Perhaps we can address this tomorrow in the TA room Jeff…? I am sure that can be greatly reduced.
Yep, call your broker. They’ll reduce rates.
does this apply to the big names like TD and Fidelity? They’ll go believe the listed rates?
Anyone know when TWTR will offer options?
available NOW!!!!!!
Wow thanks!
Go with Interactive Brokers.
With IB a common buy of 1000 shares costs like $3. I bought 6 INFI call contracts for $3 the other day.
LNKD is going to gap up about 5 bucks. wow, MAJOR fucking win for anyone still holding.
I hope OA and the room found an entry in CTRP this morning…..
FNMA going even higher!
jesus i have GOT to learn to just the chart set-up and hold. I had Dec week 1 calls for LNKD, there was no reason at all to bail on them yesterday. I saw the profit amount and snatched it.
just= trust*
I feel your pain Matt. We are all guilty of this to one extent or the other. My admittedly un-scientific take on the room is that we capture 95% of our losses and about 60% of our available gains – an upside down mentality if ever there was one. OA works far too hard to set us up with good trades for us to squander so much money.
I’ve taken to entering my sell order (GT60) the day I fill my buy – if nothing else, it serves as an “in your face” reminder of my original trade plan and targets.
Also, if your platform allows it, have you considered a sell order with trailing stops ?
Yeah its tough when that happens, but at least you made a nice profit. I sold my LNKD weeklies yesterday for 300% and if I held them well it would have been mucho nicer.
What I have found to work pretty well is to just roll up some calls to a higher strike with some of the profits. win/win.
Long GME calls here.. looking for a bounce off $55.70.
king $CZR on the cusp of another run up. this could be a good friday.
lanforce… thanks again for the reminder on $CLF, i almost forgot to make my “re-test money” on this iron ore peddler.
Happy to be of service. Sometimes I feel like I’m shouting into the wind, but it was good info and I didn’t want people to miss it.
