That was no prank. That was a good citizen with a scanner or something just doing his duty (Spanish Inquisition-style or Nazi Germany-style) reporting some suspicious terrorist activity to the authorities.
The SWAT team should have taken out that whole family right then and there. Who do those kids think they are, making terroristic threats over wireless headsets over the public airwaves. That’s like yelling “Fire” in a crowded theatre. It’s against the law.
I applaud our good citizen for promptly reporting them to the authorities.
When it’s that easy to get a fully geared SWAT team over to your enemy’s house, based on a fake report, you know this is going to become an expensive taxpayer problem… maybe the concept of a SWAT team at the local level ain’t such a good idea after all. An officer with a vest and a shotgun can probably do the same thing, albeit much less expensive.
