Lovely, Pointless Bloodshed

The 9th floor is in a state of disarray; papers litter the floor and counterspace and every other surface is covered in ash from spent pipe tobacco. The decanter across the room on the shelf is three quarters empty space, that seems to almost mock the amber contents of Scotch surpressed below it.

And Cain Hammond Thaler is yelling out his window like an institutionalized man.

My account is firmly bleeding out now. And I would love to thank the good fools in the Tea Party as none of this would be possible if they hadn’t decided to make pretend that they’re brilliant strategists.

Boehner is the weakest Speaker of the House we’ve had in at least five decades. Probably longer.

Shut this crap down already, you Ohioan jackass. You have the votes. You have plenty of Republicans willing to cross the aisle and side with the Democrats. You’ve had them literally this entire time.

We should be talking about how, in the face of the launch of the largest entitlement since World War 2, the damn thing didn’t even turn on. Instead, we’re talking about how John Boehner likes to kill kids with cancer.

Fuck yourself, and hold the damn vote.

“Instead, we’re talking about how John Boehner likes to kill kids with cancer.”

If you’re going to write a hit piece, at least get the facts correct. Harry Reid is the one getting criticized for killing cancer kids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0lFyFJeZSY

I’m a fan of your blog, but this post completely misses the point. We will never default because coupon payments on treasuries < 20% of monthly receipts. Should debt ceiling not be raised, ~10m monthly accounts prioritized for payment. This simply amounts to a reduction in fiscal stimulus. Is it enough to crash a market? Maybe, but only because we're in an epic credit bubble in search for a pin. Deleveraging can happen now or later.

If a CR and clean debt ceiling is passed now, as you suggest, then there is no debate about ACA because House leverage is gone and there wouldn't be votes in the Senate.

I don't have any bets on this either way, but important to objectively analyze situation.

John Boehner was the original cancer-kid killer. Reid was quite enjoying the cancer patient murderer attacks, until he was implicated by one of the spending bills the House passed.

We’re not going to have a debate about ACA at all. The only way this law ever gets debated again is with a GOP supermajority – which is almost something I fear as much as Democratic regular majority.

Ok, you win on the first point 🙂 I think you’re right about ACA debate…and who the hell knows what would happen with a GOP supermajority. Perhaps we would find out what the other (Mc) Cain dreams about at night.

I’m going out on a limb here and saying that at least 2/3rds of the Obamacare exchange traffic is just the same million consults trying to access them so they can explain what they are to their clients…

And through all of this, no one is addressing the real problem of escalating health care costs. ACA is going to make it much worse for all of us, but this issue has been snowballing for quite some time.

I heard my parents reminisce about the belt tightening they had to do in 1969, after they paid for my older sister’s birth…with cash. We really have come so far away from that time.

I am very happy to see the ACA go into action. We are a westernized country who can’t take care of its citizens, sad. Funny that those who compare the ACA to Hitler are the very same ones who NEVER have to worry about healthcare again, as they have it for life. Oh, the irony!

The wealthy will be fine. And good for them, nothing wrong with having wealth.

As a middle income person, I am alarmed by the increasing financial squeeze on my group, and the growing entitlement aggression of those who do not pay their own way..

Yes, we are in theory a compassionate country, and we do not wish to see people die for lack of health care. But consider that the some of the biggest abusers of human rights in the USA are the lower economic classes. Self inflicted and directed at others, including children.
