Ardent Critic of Hillary Clinton, Leon Cooperman, Charged with Insider Trading

The SEC has charged legendary investor, Leon Cooperman, with insider trading for illicit profits in Atlas pipelines.
Although I have no idea, whatsoever, as to Leon’s innocence or guilt, I can tell you he’s been a critic of both Obama and Hillary. And, unlike many of his industry peers, he’s been very critical of Hillary Clinton.

Here’s what he said last year, regarding her public stance against hedge funds, her hypocrisy, and corruption at the Clinton Foundation.

“I don’t need anybody crapping all over what I do for a living,” the founder of $9.2 billion hedge fund firm Omega Advisors said .

“I have nothing to apologize for. I’ve made a lot of money. I’m giving it all back to society,”

Cooperman echoed some of his peers in noting that Clinton criticizes the industry despite her own hedge fund ties.

“[She] hangs out with all these people in Martha’s Vineyard and in the Hamptons and then the very first thing she has to say is to criticize hedge funds,” he said.

That’ll learn him.

The SEC has taken this fight into the streets, dragging Cooperman’s family into the mix.

They also allege Omega failed to report holdings in a timely fashion more than 40x.

Here is the full complaint.

Oh, one last thing before I go (extra Columbo), there this very public shaming of Obama by Copperman.

He’s an idiot… this woman gets away with criminal negligence at the very least.. .has the FBI director make a public statement of no charges.. and he thinks he can rally against that? He made a fatal flaw in who he’s dealing with.

too high profile for two bullets in his back while walking down the sidewalk…so an insider trading charge will have to do for now.

Wait until Trump is spiked by the Justice Department for charity fraud. Now we know why he doesn’t want his tax returns viewed. If the guy is elected he will spend most of his time in depositions Slick Willie style.

We have no justice department. At least one that is blind to whom they are dealing with anyhow… That is the problem.

It would not be the first politically motivated investigation and/or prosecution under Obama. I think it has more to do with the quality, or lack thereof, of the Obama’s appointees rather than Obama himself. Expect more of this corruption under Clinton.

Kind of like Trump bribing FL attorney general to drop investigation into Trump University. The payment and decision not to prosecute was just a coincidence I’m sure.

One is under-qualified appointees misusing state power on their own initiative for political reasons. The other is unproven speculation about a quid pro quo between Trump and attorney generals in two states.

How did the US attorney misuse his power? Because Cooperman says he’s innocent? Obviously one of his minions flipped on him after a visit from the SEC.

Trump’s dealing with the FL Attorney General doesn’t pass the smell test. Just politics as usual.

No, I was talking about all the IRS audits of conservative groups over the last 8 years. That was proven malfeasance on the part of the IRS. This case is just getting started but it would fit the profile of what is going on in the Obama controlled branch of government.

It a stretch to say there was quid pro quo in the Florida case. Looks like more of an accounting error-$2,500 fine.
