Allergen Acquires a Little NASH Drug Biotech for 500% Premium

NASH drugs will be all the rage in the new America, as its people descend into anarchy and take to the bottle in ever increasing numbers. This morning, the good folks over at Allergen said ‘fuck it’ and acquired a small little unknown biotech company for $1.7b, a 500 fucking percent premium to the closing share price.

tbra

Good luck explaining this at the next shareholder meeting.

The stock was trading $4.5 just yesterday. Today, it is being acquired for $50. What the fuck is going on here?

Could you imagine being short this stock? If I was caught short this fucker today, I’d wrap myself in a burlap blanket and throw myself into a lit fireplace.

Allergan Plc (AGN.N) said it would buy Tobira Therapeutics Inc (TBRA.O) in a deal worth up to $1.7 billion, about 19 times the company’s current value, to get a leg up in the race to develop therapies for NASH, an incurable fatty liver disease.

Allergan’s offer of $28.35 per Tobira share upfront is nearly a whopping 500 percent premium to the stock’s close on Monday, which gave Tobira a market capitalization of about $89 million.

Dublin-based Allergan said Tobira shareholders could get up to $49.84 per share contingent on the company achieving certain milestones.

Tobira’s shares surged 575 percent to $32 premarket on Tuesday. Allergan’s shares were off 0.4 percent.

Other NASH companies out there include ICPT, GNFT.pa, CNAT.

Deutsche Bank Makes the Case for Recession, All Four Warning Signals Have Been Activated

The last time all four of Deutsche Bank’s warning signals for recession failed was in 1986, which was a very weird time for the world as the Reagan swag and morning in America optimism beat back the bears like the devil dogs they were. Also, it’s worth noting, just one year hence the stock market crashed and it was only by the grace of God that it didn’t lead to a deleterious economic downturn.

The Germans are out with stats and charts this morning, trying to warn you cheese doodle eating Americans to the storm that is coming.

image image image

How much of an anomaly was 1986? Deutsche Bank has the answers.

a) 1986 was the only episode over the past 60 years in which U.S. corporate margins declined (from 8.6 percent in the second quarter of 1984 to 6.7 percent in in the fourth quarter of 1986) without this leading to a recession

b) it was the only episode over the past 40 years during which capex growth turned negative (driven by falling energy investments) without this leading to a recession

c) it was the only episode over the past 30 years in which speculative default rates rose meaningfully above 5 percent without this leading to a recession.

Personally, I’m waiting for the yield curve to invert as my warning sign, which is part of the reason why I’m long TLT. The interesting thing about this rot of an economy is that it’s accompanied by rigged stats using rigged central banks, making those who warn of shit like recessions look like fucking lunatics.

Nevertheless, you’ve been warned.

Mayor Giuliani Lays into Deblasio for Failing to Call the Chelsea Bombing a Terrorist Attack

I am good friends with many democrats. For the life of me, I don’t know any normal people who’d refuse to call a bombing an act of terror. I do not know how the democrats got boxed into this ‘fag box‘ that forces them to say red is blue and blue is yellow. Their advisors or leaders have paved a way to an indelible stupidity that leaves their politicians looking like complete jackasses to non wards of the state, who are able to discern between a complete clown and an introspective somewhat intelligent human being.

Giuliani lays into Deblasio, NYC’s most hated Mayor of all-time, for being DeBlasio.

House Oversight Committee Looking into Combetta’s Reddit Account

We’ve discussed this earlier today, and it looks like House Republicans are taking notice of the criminal fuckery that is the essence of the Hillary Clinton’s circle of idiots. Not only did they smash phones with hammers in order to destroy evidence, they also implemented software to wipe the servers clean, in order to hide something from authorities.

Well, it was revealed today that her IT specialist, Paul Combetta, may have sought out the help of people on Redditt to help him with his ‘very VIP’ client.

As sure as I’m sitting here, this alleged investigation will go absolutely nowhere, as the House GOP are just as corrupt and rotten as the democrats. However, it makes for a good drama. As an American, who employs very expensive tax attorneys, I do enjoy a good drama to pass the time.

Via the morons from The Hill

“The Reddit post issue and its connection to Paul Combetta is currently being reviewed by OGR staff and evaluations are being made as to the authenticity of the post,” Meadows told The Hill.

Combetta is currently one of the targets of a broader Oversight investigation on whether Clinton ordered the destruction of emails that had been subpoenaed by the Benghazi Select Committee.

“If it is determined that the request to change email addresses was made by someone so closely aligned with the Secretary’s IT operation as Mr. Combetta, then it will certainly prompt additional inquiry,” Meadows told The Hill. “The date of the Reddit post in relationship to the establishment of the Select Committee on Benghazi is also troubling.”

The Reddit message was sent on July 23, 2014, according to an archive of the page saved by other users. The day before, the Benghazi Committee had reached an agreement with the State Department on the production of related records, according the FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s use of the server.

The identity of the “stonetear” user is not confirmed. Reddit users point to the fact that an account on the online marketplace Easy for a Paul Combetta has the username “stonetear” and the inactive website combetta.com is registered to the email address stonetear@gmail.com.

God willing, Hillary will get elected in time for her to issue a full pardon to this Mr. Stonetear fellow, who was merely doing his job as an employee of a great American woman.

Markets Are Boring People to Death Ahead of the BOJ and Fed Decisions

On Wednesday we get to find out if the BOJ will cut rates again, cease buying equity ETFs, or maybe even up the level of stimulus currently afforded. Truly, this is a meeting that will move markets, for Kuroda is a weapon of mystery and deception.

It’s widely expected that the BOJ will continue asset purchases, but perhaps halt (extra nazi) their ETFs fuckery.

On the Fed side, I fully expect them to do nothing, but talk EXTREME shit in their statement. Don’t worry, everything they say in their statement will be a lie, forged to make them look tough–like dorky high schoolers walking around with wife beaters and no muscles. No one is scared of them. Markets might get sold down, but I wouldn’t trade the tape unless they actually hiked.

Futures are flat in Germany and +30 here. If I were you (thank God I am not), I’d start hedging my portfolio with bonds and gold now, ahead of what might become an eventful week in trading.

CLAIM: Hillary’s Bleachbit Guy, Paul Combetta, Asked Reddit Users How to Clean a Server

If true, this is woefully damning. I just have a hard time grasping the fact that they’d be so fucking stupid.

Here is the post.

poof

He also asked about pushing back the 60 day retention window.

Redditors went to work and started to trace the user of that account to a Mr. Paul Combetta.

Here is his Etsy account with matching user.

paul

Here is a trove of information tying him to that Reddit user name.

Here is the exchange.

stonetear: Remove or replace to/from address on archived emails?

Hello all- I may be facing a very interesting situation where I need to strip out a VIP’s (VERY VIP) email address from a bunch of archived email that I have both in a live Exchange mailbox, as well as a PST file. Basically, they don’t want the VIP’s email address exposed to anyone, and want to be able to either strip out or replace the email address in the to/from fields in all of the emails we want to send out. I am not sure if something like this is possible with PowerShell, or exporting all of the emails to MSG and doing find/replaces with a batch processing program of some sort. Does anyone have experience with something like this, and/or suggestions on how this might be accomplished?

borismkv: There is no supported way to do what you’re asking. You can only delete emails after they’re stored in the database. You can’t change them. If there was a feature in Exchange that allowed this, it could result in major legal issues. There may be ways to hack a solution, but I am not aware of any. permalinkembedsavegive gold

stonetear:

As a PST file or exported MSG files, this could be done though, yes? The issue is that these emails involve the private email address of someone you’d recognize, and we’re trying to replace it with a placeholder address as to not expose it.

exproject: To my knowledge, there’s no way to edit existing messages, that’s a possibility for a discovery nightmare. To strip/rename on outbound/inbound you could rewrite it with a transport rule.

stonetear:

That wouldn’t work on existing messages though right?

odoprasm: Is there no way to access and edb manually?

stonetear:

I have full access to the server – what are you suggesting with the EDB file?

stonetear:

I think maybe I wasn’t clear enough in the original post. I have these emails available in a PST file. Can I rewrite them in the PST? I could also export to MSG and do some sort of batch find/replace. Anyone know of tools that might help with this?

exproject: Just because you have the messages available in multiple formats and locations doesn’t change that it’s an attribute of the envelope not meant to be rewritten. The functionality is just not built into any tool I know of. Having that functionality would create the ability to screw with discovery (I mean, there could be mitigation with versioning, but that would need other configuration) While it may not be a read-only part of the envelope(I’m not actually sure), the only tool that MIGHT be able to do what you want is MFCMapi, and I don’t think you want to play with that for this job. The chance of getting it wrong would be pretty high I think and it is not a particularly friendly tool. I’m not sure it could be scripted with it either. My recommendation would be what/u/borismkv said. Making a mailbox for VIP and telling them to use that. Forwarding to VIPs mailbox would be ripe for them to just respond directly instead of responding through his relay mailbox. As for your existing messages, if the current users absolutely cannot see the existing messages, you’ll need to do a search and export and just forcibly remove the messages from their mailboxes. It’s not clean and not advised by me, but if they don’t want VIPs address out there it will need to be removed. I would do a search with his email address as the query with -LogOnly -LogLevel Full and see what kind of results you get.

It appears the Reddit account was deleted. It was a two year old very active account. Don’t worry, the internet keeps archives.

Markets Slide After Reality Sets in

Maybe it’s not a good idea to buy stocks in the midst of a terrorist attack spree in the Tri state area? Or, maybe people are little jittery ahead of the Fed. Either way, stocks have been selling off after rising more than 100 earlier on.

There’s still some strength found in both the gold and oil markets.

European markets all closed very strong. I’d be surprised to see this little intermission in buying stick. Algos love terror attacks and have always bought them.

BROUGHT TO JUSTICE

That little afghan shit, who apparently likes to drone out and play video games when he’s not committing acts of terror, has been arrested, after shooting a police officer in Linden, NJ.

There’s a lot of rumors and reports being tossed around, from West Point being locked down to two cops shot in Elizabeth, Nj.

Bottom line: the main suspect has been caught and markets like it.

Clinton Responds to Recent Terror Attacks by Reminding People the 9/11 Terrorists Weren’t Refugees, Says Trump Helps ISIS Recruit New Terrorists

The fuckery is strong with this one. Hillary took the opportunity, in front of her apparent fake background, to blame Trump for ISIS and to remind us that Islam isn’t to blame and how the 9/11 attacks weren’t committed by refugees.

Truly Amazing: FDA Grants Fast Track Approval to Controversial $SRPT Drug

I’ve watched this from a far with amazement. This company has a drug for muscular dystrophy that hasn’t been properly tested because the trials have been done without a placebo. There have been many opinions given on this matter and I will not pretend to offer any expertise here now. But the pressure from the public has cause the FDA to give this drug fast track approval. Just a few month ago, this theory was impossible to believe, as it looked like the FDA would reject it.

Big round of applause for those who stuck with it. Shares exploded to the upside on this news.
