I went extra Costanza on the solar names today, the funny thing is, they took the Costanza a level higher with me. All the names that I wanted to buy got tossed down the stairs, while all the names I wanted to short went up. I did the only thing appropriate, I shorted all of them, except WFR, I’m saving that for Monday. You can see my original solar post here. I cut all but 100 shares of AAPL loose. I was speaking with the good Dr yesterday and here are a few of his points on AAPL lately (@theDrBigBoss):

any product driven by need to compete on price is death for appl
= margin compression

it is at least one sign their model is coming unwound

evolving into a lower margin company is not good for the stock
that is THE bear case in a nutshell

I’ve never really been an AAPL bull, so I guess that is a piece of my own medicine, they have to find a way to innovate, if not, they lose their luster. EXK has been giving me nightmares too, and RC made a point about shorting silver today here. Thus, I may look to let it loose, especially with the negativity coming from Jake on my “unhinged” post. See, there seems to be a direct correlation between Jake’s happiness and the performance of silver. I’ll probably make a decision based on late night silver futures analysis on Sunday night/Monday morning.  Otherwise, everything else seems to be working out nicely. I am sorry my posts have been of less quantity and quality, this bug has been gnarly and now the lady has it too.
