Beer Reviews, You’ll Need ’em After Tomorrow

Maria and Jimmy come on to tell you how fucked up shit is, I’ll give you a few options for getting fucked up.

These first two are from Black Diamond Brewing Company

Wheat Wacker “India Wheat Ale” : This beer you, or I at least, can drink a lot of. It is 7% alcohol, and it is dry hopped, but moth the malts and hops are pretty mild . It has the spice and citrus of a Belgian witbier, especially because of the Belgian Ale Yeast with it’s banana, cinnamon, and clove flavors. It has a delicious balance of both European and Pacific North-West hops that compliment each other perfectly. Perfect pairing, Grilled halibut with olive oil and dill, and a butter lettuce salad.

“not my picture”

Rampage “Imperial IPA” :  This is a radical Imperial IPA, first the syrupy malt slaps you in the face, then you can taste the 9%ABV which starts to over power you, then you get flooded by the delicious aggressive hop profile. Pairings, complex spicy food to meet the complexities of this complex ale, whether it’s spicy buffalo wings with blue cheese, a Thai curry, or a rare cooked steak in a red wine reduction topped with sauteed mushrooms and onions.

Hop In The Dark, C.D.A. “Cascadian Dark Ale” : Simply a Dubbel that has been hopped with Cascade Hops. Dark and caramely with Belgian ale yeast, that provides a 7%ABV. The high ABV and syrupy malt is balanced out by 70 IBU’s of Northwestern Hops. Other’s have this listed as a Black IPA, but I don’t believe to be so. Pairing, something rich like a duck breast breast with risotto, or prime rib with starchy rich sides. Deschutes Brewing Company.

  1. Nice choice on the local micros. I will have to pick up the Wheat Whacker this week. Did you get it at Bevmo?

  2. Nice. Only had the Rampage but not the others. The Wheat Wacker “India Wheat Ale” sounds interesting. Just starting to get into these “white” IPA’s.

  3. Sorry bro, had to do this…

I went back to Chicago (hometown) from San Diego (current town) and I was offended at the poor beer selection. I had to search really hard to find a few bottles of Stone IPA to last me for the week.

Really spoiled out here in SoCal with so many great breweries.

  4. when will your reviews for domestic macro be published?
