Good Stuff Coming Tonight

I’ve got a beer review and some other deliciousness coming tonight after MCPJ and I go crush some iron.

Edit: He is taking awhile so here is some shit. TVIX, almost OB in The PPT, also trades at 2.82x its NAV. Guess what, I may go short this fucker. Why, well not to mention what I already did above, but jobs numbers come out tomorrow, on a Friday, with Greek elections roughly 2 weeks away, meaning, I think this fucker spikes tomorrow if there is the slightest of bad news, or no Bearded Clam Speech. I would look for this to be a very small, and very short trade, hopefully shorting tomorrow and covering on Monday. I do however think that there has to be some kind of reassurance from the Fed this weekend. It only takes one sentence, “we are currently assessing our options to prevent further deflation and provide growth, one of those tools is quantitative easing, which is still on the table.”  That is all it would take. With TZA on “hold,” that would seem to indicate there is bullish sentiment out there, however, the volatility is ridiculous. Why not buy an inverse VIX ETN instead? Honestly, because I have better luck shorting, perhaps because I am descended form Odin, I have no idea. This is just a thought I am throwing out, and I believe the jobs numbers will ultimately help me make the decision. Back in a few.

Just don’t ride it for a 600%+ draw down like the last major spike.

There are a lot safer ways to short volatility.

  4. Rhino, don’t you think with greek elections coming up VIX will pick up steam?

    • Yeah, hence why I gotta see what the jobs numbers are tomorrow. Also though, if the exit polls continue the way they have, it may actually lower volatility.
