Back From NY

My trip was too short. I want to be back in the greatest city in the world, but instead I’m back out here with the humid hot weather and mosquitoes. I always feel this way when coming back from New York and may stay out a full week next year so I have some time to meet up with a few of my readers.

I can’t complain though. My city, Lafayette, is the happiest city in the world, while New York is last on the list, CLICK HERE IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME. But, it doesn’t feel that way currently, I want to be back.

The fun started early Friday morning with Bourbon & coke at 7am on my first class flight. From there I met @ChessNwine for a pre-game with some 128 proof Bookers Bourbon, neat of course, to get the night started proper. After creating a nice little buzz, we headed out to Del Frisco’s, symbol DFRG, for an all you can eat buffet.

I know what you are thinking there is no buffet at $DFRG, and to you I say, “you are right.” But, our meal felt like we were at Plataforma with the waitress bringing us a taste of just about everything on the Menu. Oh, and the drinks did not stop.

From there we made our way to one of the top cigar bar’s in New York, the Carnegie Club (midtown west). The cigar, with more Bourbon, was an excellent way to end the night.

The next morning I decided to run around Central Park, the whole park. I think I tracked anywhere from 6-8 miles of jogging (which was a mistake after the previous day). I’m glad I can knock that off my bucket list, but it was rough.

Later that night, we all met at Keen’s for some world famous Mutton, and it was INCREDIBLE. It was so delicious, I wanted to gnaw on the bone like a damn dog. It was another great night with good people and MOAR alcohol. I am hurting, still.
