I get this question a lot, why the name 12631? and, what is it.
Well first off, 12631 is the trading/chat room here at iBC. The names comes from an executive order back in 1988 which formed a working group on the financial markets, see national archive here.
The chat room is spearheaded by ChessnWine and myself, but is filled with a bunch of great names you see on this site. Everyday, I am amazed by the talented traders that come in and share their work with us, all doing their part to make this place what it is today– a working group.
This post is a simple shout out to them, a big thank you for helping make this a special place here at iBC.

Hey matt, we are currently working on a smart phone app. But the pelican room streams perfectly on phone through web address.
You can see everything on your phone inside the pelican room, watchlist, positions, streaming chat. We’ve streamlined the site to make it very smartphone friendly.

The PPT is a proprietary algorithm created by The Fly and our IT Director, Jeremy. The algorithm is a fantastic series of financial tools in which the self-directed investor may effectively navigate the market. The PPT appeals to a wide variety of individual styles and philosophies, as it fuses fundamental and technical analysis (according to the algorithm). The possibilities of using the algorithm are nearly endless, tailoring the algorithm to isolate a given group of stocks in a specific search. The Fly, RaginCajun, and I all reference The PPT and its many uses frequently in our blog posts here on iBankCoin. There is also a very focused area of “User Notes” where members comment specifically on an individual stock.
12631 is a real-time, streaming chat room service directed by myself and RaginCajun. We focus largely on constant actionable idea flow, mentoring new traders, risk management principles, and timely market analysis.
