Superbowl Commercials – Winners
In general, the Superbowl ads this year were straight up disgusting. I feel for my daughter’s generation and the world in general after the filth I saw on my television box. However, there were three commercials that caught my eye.
The first one is the classic Budwiser commercial, they seem to never disappoint:
The second is the commercial for the new RAM truck. Dodge utilized the Paul Harvey poem “So God Made A Farmer.” This is marketing at its finest:
The third was for $SODA stream. I think they hit a home run and love the “green” spin they put on it. We have yet to try one in my household, but after seeing this commercial my wife wonders why we do not own one:

Agreed on all points. Sorely disappointed with the $4 million weak crop of commercials…the 3 you highlighted we’re clearly the best.

Weak is the word for this generation. Much of it is self inflicted and also the result of the “chart setup”
I was reading a blog about music production and the general tone of the thread was how everything has gone to crap. Well, OK, whatever. Someone posted a very good point- that the end result is driven by the demand, and the current generation has Internet entitlement and “everything is free” mentality. No money for anything of substance, only instant gratification. This results in music created by idiots on a laptop, because it is cheap, instant and requires little talent.
My view is much of where we are today is the collective result of individual decisions made by the general public, not “the system”, “them” or some men in a castle in Europe. It’s in the mirror.
