A Story About A DANG Stock

I have no idea why I like to trade the stock $DANG, but I do. Since the IPO, I must have traded it about 10-20 times. There were about two instances that I made some good money in it, the other 15 times, I’ve been stopped out. Normally, under these circumstances, I would place the stock on my Ban list, and never trade it again. But, not $DANG.

I think the connection comes from a time when I first traded it. I remember vividly, when the stock IPO’d along with $YOKU, they were all the rage. Well, one morning I decided to take a stab at it, right before I headed to a doctor’s appointment with my wife to see an ultrasound of my daughter.

I remember buying it and sending an alert in our room, 12631. A few seconds later my wife comes in my office and says, “come on we have to go, we are going to be late for our appointment.” I immediately replayed, “It thought the appointment was in a few hours?”

Hindsight, I should have took the trade off immediately, given how volatile the stock was. But, I decided to keep the trade on, while checking it from my iPhone. BIG MISTAKE.

In the car, on our way to the doctor, I was checking in on the stock like a junkie, my wife was like, “what’s so damn important?” I told her, “I’m working!” she replied, ” you better not be checking the phone in the doctor’s office.”

I kept quiet after that comment, but in the back of my head was thinking I will check my phone if I want to. I was setting myself up for disaster.

Before I go any further, If there is one thing I can tell you, it is to be 300% supportive when your wife is pregnant. I was a little less supportive than I should have been.

So we get to the office and we are waiting for the doctor to come in, and guess what happens next? Yep, the iPhone comes flying out. Upon opening my bullshit TOS app, I see that $DANG has failed to breakout and I am close to hitting a max pain stop loss.

At that moment, things took a turn for the worst.

The wife starts to get furious, saying things like, ” I can’t fucking believe you are going to continue to trade stocks right now while we are finding out critical information about our baby.” I can’t remember what my reply was, because my stock was tanking, but I can assure you, it was not good.

I kept checking my phone anyway.

Long story short, I took a nice loss in DANG, The wife and I were in the midst of our biggest fight, and I would be forever jinxed in the stock.

Yesterday, I took a position in the stock around 6.25, thinking to myself this will be the day I finally get my revenge.

So far things are working out well.

I should probably sell, and take my win, but given the pain this stock has caused me, I want more.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.
