I’m taking Gio’s & Fly’s advice and adding some energy right here. National-Oilwell Varco, Inc. [[NOV]] has been cut in half as of late, but their book of business is full, not to mention a few rigs need fixing in the gulf.
I’m also looking at James River Coal Company [[JRCC]] , I can’t believe it’s trading in the low 20s. How about Petrohawk Energy Corporation [[HK]] ? Dirt cheap. What about alternative energy? Evergreen Solar, Inc. [[ESLR]] ].
However, I will only be buying one name, and it’s National-Oilwell Varco, Inc. [[NOV]] .

Valuations don’t matter, short term … deleveraging is the order of the day.
When USO drops to 68, which would probably put crude around the low $80s, then I’ll think about stepping in.
The whole thing is, banks are dead, loans are gone, commercial real estate is gone, businesses cannot get money to grow, and no growth for businesses mean unemploymeent, and that means less consuming and more bankrupcy and a global shrinkage like a Minnesotan skinny dipper in December. less jobs also mean less transporting to work, and the baby boomers will continue to reach retirement and sit around not driving to work anymore. Where’s the demand for oil?
no repairs needed.
Just shorted some WFC up here
If the FED cuts oil will spike.
Besides, I need a few longs to hedge myself.
Great buy.
I’m with you, went after more NOG and some AKS.
what about WNR?
i’ve been eyeing those names for a while, and i think they’re all good. ESLR is more of a lotto name, but if you have a few throwaway dollars, why not take a swing. hell, it was trading double today’s price not too long ago, and nothing has really changed with the company.
i bought some FCX today, since it seemed to bounce off 60. i’ll probably sell half if it bounces up to the 68 area.
WNR is good here.
There’s something up with ESLR. That thing is dropping like Larry Craig in a Minneapolis bathroom stall.
It looks like they have some ties to LEH.
Cajun, good buy on NOV.
Aris I bought some more FCX too.
Watch FSLR for an indicator on solar stocks. $200 is strong support for it. It’s sitting on it right now.
