I for one highly believe Dow going lower if the asian stocks go low on sunday night est time. However i cant even guess what tricks C has for their earnings ..is it the 18th i forget. Overall, it all depends on C.

Looks to me like its all gonna rest on the financials shoulders this week. If they can find more obscure accounting rules to hide their crap and come out and say they are great then we are going higher. Then again if they say earnings are really bad 1st quarter than the market will probably go higher on the basis that the worst is over. But I will say that the chart don’t look so good. Since I believe it should go lower it will go higher.

Using the Costanza rule of investing, it will end higher, so I will pick Over.
Actually I have a partial theory why the indexes just don’t go down. We’ll see if my guess is right.

Of course I think lower, but i’ll take a stab at how the action of the week might play out.
Mon – Open slightly lower, recover to about flat. Ends just slightly lower but not bad.
Tue – Slight pop on open, minimal gains held on close.
Wed – The market will choose to believe JPM’s “beat” and ignore the bad news in WFC, leading to a minor rally in financials, leading the markets slightly higher.
IBM after the bell will be interesting. There was that streak where IBM was preannouncing every other day there (in Feb?). Like GE, if they don’t live up to the expectations (or shock the world and miss) all bets would be off.
Thur – MER will be more of a miss than people thought, bringing financials back down. No real feeling here in my guesses, too much hinges on IBM. I’ll guess higher.
GOOG after the bell, will announce ok earnings, but will be punished once again in AHs.
Fri – C will be a bigger loss than expected too, markets will close down.
My overall guess… just down about 100-150ish on the week.
