Long March 25 calls for a quickie here. If this stock can trade through $25, there is some great structure overhead.
If you don’t like the short dated options, the stock is an easy trade to manage here with a target of $28.

lol. nice filename.
i was still holding the 20’s. i booked the win and rolled half the profits into the 25’s. Crazy to think being too deep in the money starts to be a bad thing.
to think i had this at 13 and freaking got out at 18! wow – this was a goodie here.
and VSLR!!! WOW!!!!!!
Finally clawed back to a gain in that today.
i had to sell out in december for work – cant hold funds at an outside broker dealer. decided not to open an account at my new firm, therefore not re-entering the position. WOOPS
props to you for sticking this one out OA
Bid on a higher risk bet on BLOX April 30s but didn’t fill. Hope it comes back in a bit.
Thinking about trying a small position on some April 28s on $SUNE for like $0.17. A fast 3-5 point move into the volume pocket would produce a huge win. Very low probability options, but this would be the time to play them IMO.
If I could get a 4 point move I’d write the 30s against them for like $0.40 depending on how fast it goes, guaranteeing more than a double.
So on 10 contracts @ $0.18 I’d be laying out $180…then I’d write the 30s for a $400 credit. If my spread ends ITM I’d have $2,400 total credits – minus the $180 investment for a profit of $2220, or 1,233%. Just an idea though.
Seems like the long way around to squeeze an extra $400 out of an already huge win. I’d say don’t complicate things and just close the position at that point.
I say this as I’ve actually done this exact same thing in the past with mixed results. My conclusion has always been to treat it as a separate trade if you think a short term top is in and play it with puts instead of turning your monster win into a spread trade.
Just my .02
Closing out a winner completely would be an option sure, but I’m not going to short a stock in the middle of a volume pocket run, especially one that I like fundamentally.
But if you still like it, why cap your upside by turning it into a spread trade?
This is a crowded field with a lot of big players out there making excellent products. You must be trading based on charts only.
Aren’t you doing the same while getting pounded in EXK?
