Why not take two good products and make one great product?

That’s the idea for “50 shades of Earl Grey Tea” – for those nights, after the kids go to bed and mom just needs some “me” time to relax and unwind from her stressful day.

Adam Smith is now the former CFO and treasurer of Vante Medical Supplies.

Why? because Adam Smith thought he’d take his personal protest against Chick-Fil-A directly to where it would do the most good…. a restaurant near his home.

Not content with sharing his grievances with some poor girl making minimum wage, this MENSA candidate decides to film his tirade and post it on youtube so all the world wide web would unite in singing his praises.

Obviously Adam Smith thought he was sticking it to the man (no homo) – not that there’s anything wrong with that (Seinfeld) over the opinions of their CEO on same sex marriage

Things didn’t turn out quite the way Adam Smith planned though. He was recognized and his employer contacted. Today Vante Medical Supply released this statemnt:

TUCSON, AZ–(Marketwire – Aug 2, 2012) – The  following is a statement from Vante:

Vante regrets the unfortunate events that  transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and  an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an  employee of our company.

The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our  corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a  diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of  our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions,  however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate  with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of  civility with others.

We hope that the general population does not hold  Mr. Smith’s actions against Vante and its employees.

Congratulations Adam Smith – You’re the IBC asshat of the week

Why Nike is Fucked up….. a customers perspective

I’ve worn Nike since I was in High School – I can still remember my first pair because I was cutting grass and it took mowing 6 yards for me to afford my first pair of leather cortez. Look at them – classic lines, nice basic colors. The fact they’re white means you could wear ’em with Levis and a polo shirt or a pair of shorts and a tee shirt without looking like a dork

Spring forward 25 years and I’m still a Nike customer, though to be honest, I really don’t want to be. Somehow men’s athletic shoes have become clown shoes. Finding a pair of decent looking running shoes or cross trainers has become a frustrating search across the web and stores. The last pair of Nike I bought that I really liked was 3 years ago. They’re on the left and I found them at Dick’s  while I was getting baseball cleats for one of my sons. They now have a hole on one side the soles are ripping out. I wish I had bought 3 pair. The ones next to them  are what I’ve “Settled” on beacuse they were the least obnoxious looking I could find. Both pair look like they belong on Crusty the clown instead of Jordan, Bo. or Bird. It wasn’t till they arrived that I realized how much I hated them.

I also hate sending shit back and waiting in lines so now they just take up space in my closet.

Fuck you Nike.. Just Fuck you

American ingenuity at its finest: Kodak

I’m stuck in NYC this morning thanks to the first rain I’ve seen in 3 months (no irony) that has backed up LGA for 3 hours. So I checked my e-mail this morning to find this incredible new device that Kodak is offering:

That’s right, it’s a small device that plugs right into your computer and allows you to keep your pictures safe and secure. It even comes with a matching cap to make sure the pictures don’t escape after you unplug it.

So how much would you pay for this miracle product that can save your precious memories? Is $29.95 + shipping too much to save up to 4,000 pictures of your life?

Sarcasm aside, I wonder if Kodak got their marketing e-mail list from a Nigerian Prince who needs help getting his fortune out of the country. It’s obviously not geared towards anyone who has ever heard of a 4GB flash drive which can be bought on Amazon for $4.99.

I haven’t looked at Kodak stock in years, so for grins I looked up their stock – I hadn’t realized they were in Chpt. 11.

Here’s what their “innovation” looks like  to investors. I always wonder who actually buys bankrupt companies stock? It would seem shorting Chpt. 11 companies is the surest bet around – if you could find the shares to short. I checked on AMR a while back and there was none available
