Jake Pours A Special Treat for the Bears

_______________________________________

You can tell by the twinkle in his eye that old Pat Boone’s having a special day.      And so are tthe loyal Jacksonian JakeGint Brigade.

Gold is now in new all-time high territory @ $1041.70 an ounce, having smashed the former $1,033 ceiling with gusto this morning, as our friend, Mr. Dollar plummets once again to it’s flash-paper grave.

In the meantime, silver is the purchase of the century as it still lags gold in targetting and achieving it’s old $20+ highs.    Silver is still one-sixtieth the price of gold as well, compared to more historic ratioss of 40:1.

I’m still targetting a $21.95 price for [[UUP]] , and we may break to new lows from there, thanks to swarthy men wearing bedsheets and mis-treating their camels half-way across the world.

How dare they object to our running off sheets and sheets of green paper with Ben Franklin’s visage on it and exchanging said specie for their greasy petrol?   Don’t they know what attractive wall covering that shade of grey-green can provide?

Not to mention window-treatments.

Not to get all “stuffed-in-the-gut” about how all my dollar defense dragons are tearing ass on this market and making investments in TV-tubes and natty gas service companies look like so much Baltic Avenue rowhouse property (we have Mr. Boone for that purpose  anyway), I’d like to point out some exaggerated gorillas whose armpits you may wish to shave at some point today…

(That means “take some fiat off the table” for the metaphorically challenged)

Silver Wheaton Corp. (USA) [[SLW]] will likely come back to it’s breakout at $13.35 or so.

Hecla Mining Company [[HL]] is a crazy stock and will likely meet stiff resistance at $5.00.

Wait for a break of $21.96  to get back on [[CDE]] , otherwise, it should fill that gap again at $20.41

Silver Standard Resources Inc. (USA) [[SSRI]] has an optimal entry at $21.75, but otherwise it should get held up at $23.25 or so for the near term.

[[PAAS]] is “BTFO,” but will likely return to it’s old high of $24.81 before heading to new pastures.

Golden Star Resources Ltd. (USA) [[GSS]] will be BTFO at $3.71, but is a buy on a pullback to $3.38.

That’s enough free fritatas for now, pikers.   Sign up for The PPT to get the full-fire hose effect of instant portfolio nutrition.

Off to commiserate with mountain dwarves and other horders of glittering treasure piles.

Slante.

CDE appears to be experiencing a minor pullback here… probably a purchase at $21.44 if you can grab it at rest.

    Jake,

I’m finally banking some coin!!! It looks like my PMPIX will be up at least another 6% to 7% today after its4.98% yesterday.

You can quickly look at ABX and the gap up to get an idea of what this fund is doing.

So I’m thinking get out at the end of the day and watch it for awhile or at least lighten up.

    Your thoughts good sir?

    Thanks

I would pare it back at least 50%, but you should keep some of it for the long term hold… maybe with a stop if you insist on taking profits at every turn.

I’m not a big fan of paying taxes for intermediate term moves.

    Thanks Jake,

You can’t use stops with Profunds. I wish you could.

You have to either get out, lighten up, or ride it out.

Thanks for advice, I will lighten up.

40:1? I had always heard the historic ratio was 12:1.

Well, it depends upon what you mean by “historical.”

I’m talking “near term” history… since Bretton Woods history.

19th century silver:gold was fixed in a lot of countries (including this one) at 16:1.

      I’m not familiar w. 12:1, though.

You’re light on silver though. Don’t forget PAAS, EXK, CDE and even that shit-bird HL.

          Silver will outperform all.

Thanks, I know Gary S likes the silver plays too…I will add some of those. What % of your portfolio is in the pm’s? I’m guessing you buy and hold in your iras, 401ks and trade short term on these guys too?

I scanned Gary Savage’s junior miner list (there’s like 50 or so of them) and just have not been able to bring myself to buy any of them. There might have been a few in there, but a bunch of penny stocks. I heard Market Vectors was putting together an ETF of the juniors…Don’t know where they are at on that fund now.

Released this a bit ago on the PPT, so here it is now for public —

“UUP hit it’s short-term downtrend line that initiated on 10/2 and ran through 10/5 to be touched again today @ 22.68. I expect the dollar to turn lower again from here.”

    UUP currently @ 22.65.

Hmmmm….for now that 76 and change number on the dollar held up again. Bounced off it and didn’t break through today. The trend is down regardless, but we are squeezing into a tight little triangle with the down sloping trend line giving resistance from above. Something’s got to give. I think we break under 76 now and test the 74 area.

    Hi Jake,

Now that we’re back in our desert abode (briefly), and back on the e-mail I originally signed on to ibc with, let me see if I can comment without being “moderated” fordamnever.

First, congrats on the blog, on your calls, and on banking mega coin. Even though I’ve been unable to post here since last May, I’ve been able to follow almost daily what goes on here.

Second, I think I heard on cnbc today some one say that gold would have to close over $2300.00, inflation adjusted to break its’ all time high. Does this sound right?

      Brushbuck —

Welcome back, glad you could get on… if you get “moderated” it’s usually a mistake… just alert me or send an email to Jeremy and I can fish your comment out.

And yes, I think that it’s right around $2,400 inflation adjusted, if I recall correctly.

Of course, “new high” mania does not take “inflation adjusted” numbers into it’s analysis. The $1,033 was an important hurdle.

Yaaay! I’m back in comment mode business. Not that I do all that much…but every once in a while I’d like to ask a question or some such.

Well then, if we’re talking even remotely about gold and/or silver even appraching their inflation adjusted highs…we could be in for one heck of a run.

Thanks, Jake, and continued good luck.

Long post warning. By command of Captain Gint; prelimary review of HEB (has a product out there) and CVM. Regrets in advance should my review turn negative for holders.

Management passes [my] initial muster at HEB, I’m not there with CVM yet. Look at HLCS to see what makes me feel warm and fuzzy from the git go, and one of the factors in my decision to load up with abandon well under $2 and keep buying on the dips. I will of course drown under the curse of HLCS one day, but hopefully not before I get to bank some more coin well north of here this month.

Working on it, but will take another day or so. I’m pretty familiar with the HEB interferon since I’m an OB/Gyn. Not terribly popular for a number of good reasons, however the interferon concept seemed to have a lot of legs at one point. I’ll be getting refreshed on the subject.

“Mr. de Clara attended the medical school of the University of Munich from 1949 to 1955” didn’t see much else about the next 30 years. I hate gaps of 30 years…

I like the “almost alliteration” of it.

Truthfully, I was just checking the spelling on “carapace” and I saw “chitinous” used in the sentence illustrating the word in the online dictionary and I said — “no way I’m leaving that word behind.”

Used w. “chitinous” carapace really means “exoskeleton” as in an insect or sea-going arthropod.

CVM – Maximilan De Clara is a freakin ghost, where the hell was he for 25 years. Name sounds like lots of old money, the kind that you can’t talk about. Strange…but what the heck. Movin’ on.

I get the multikine story, and the good phase ll report, but the meat is in phase lll – that takes a partner for them, and is a toss of the dice. Their other line is just getting some PR related to the flu thingy but seems pretty weak to me. Definitely not a mainstream kinda biotech. Kinda cultish waldorfian if you know what I mean. I feel a need to felt something or put on a play.

Seems pretty speculative, they’ve been pushing this stuff for a very long time. I might buy some for my sampler collection at around a buck. That’s my best offer tonight.

    A deep read;
