Too bad you had to be all fiduciary and diversify with cash instead of using the 2x leverage you’re entitled to.

We should have bought Brazil beginning of the year.

Buying America entails hiring lobbyists . Buying Brazil entails directly handing cash to politicians in exchange for prime hunks of the country.

No doubt Fly knows what’s up, but I’m too young to be sitting in cash and treasuries. I’m not 3/4 SPY either though. ‘Twas just an example

I did you what you’re doing now for 20 years. When you get a little older, you’ll come to realize the slow steady gains are preferable.

Always appreciate your responses to my comments. Yours is the only site I read daily, if not hourly. Keep doing you regardless of the naysayers.

I decided a few years ago that focusing on my primary income “day job” would have magnitudes greater impact on my wealth than learning technical or fundamental analysis of financial assets. I believe I’m more defensive than 90% of people here and many would call my philosophy “old man”. Any returns better than maintaining buying power is gravy to me.

However, sitting in cash and treasuries only shifts my financial risk from the short term to the long term, it doesn’t eliminate it. My fingers are crossed every day we get the long overdue valuation haircut. Happy to take short term pain in that case. If all my “risky” assets go to zero though, my guess is cash isn’t doing people much good in that scenario either.
