BOJ Quantitative Curving Causes Yen to Surge

This is precisely what the BOJ didn’t want, which makes the pin action in the yen all the more beautiful. When the BOJ announced their diabolical schemes to shape the yield curve, the yen had slumped by nearly 1%. Slowly but surely, that faithful, yet boorish, servile reaction has eroded and has finally given way to market forces who know better.

The Yen approaches 100 v the dollar, higher by 0.75%.

The Trump Surge in Mexican Peso Terms

The peso has been getting its face clocked for the past month, almost the inverse of Trump’s polling numbers. Things are getting so bad for the peso that speculators are now floating the idea that Mexico may need to intervene by hiking rates.

image

“As we approach 20 versus the dollar, there will be more and more people speculating about intervention and rate hikes from the central bank,” said Anders Svendsen, an analyst at Nordea Bank A/S in Copenhagen. “That kind of speculation will prevent it from breaching that level unless we get some kind of external driver that really spooks the markets.”

Make to peso crappy again.

The Bank of Japan Pivots, Now Aiming to Control the Shape of the Yield Curve

What exactly does that mean? The BOJ will scrap the idea that lower rates can spur growth and instead focus on the explicit profitability of their banks, by rigging the actual shape of the yield curve.

Crazy Kuroda, BOJ Chief, announced the board would keep rates at -0.1%, but the $780b stimulus that was designed to control the bond markets would be tweaked in an effort to create a spread between short and long duration credits. This is QE, the newest version.

“The BOJ’s decision to steepen the yield curve showed they are taking into account the situation of financial institutions,” said Takeshi Minami, chief economist at Norinchukin Research Institute. Atsushi Takeda, an economist at Itochu Corp. in Tokyo, said today’s decisions “suggest that the BOJ is reaching its limit to monetary options.”

This is the end of the road for the BOJ. If this doesn’t work, nothing will.

I’d like you to entertain curmudgeon Fly and, if only for a moment, think about the financial tyranny the BOJ is unleashing on their people for the benefit of a select few corporate entities. Free markets are dead. We’re living in an era of command oligarchies that will be remembered as the nascency of a financial dark age.

The U.S. and Russia Are Now in a Proxy War in Syria

Last week, the United Steaks bombed and killed at least 60 Syrian troops, enabling ISIS psychopaths of overrun an airport. The U.S. admitted to supporting terrorism, saying it was an accident. Since then, the tenuous ceasefire with Russia collapsed, due to Russia’s complaints that U.S. backed rebels weren’t holding up their end of the bargain.

Yesterday, Russia bombed out a UN convoy, which was allegedly sending food and supplies to the war stricken areas of Aleppo, killing 20 and scorching 18 UN trucks.

The White House on Tuesday night said it held Russia responsible for the air strike on the convoy. “There only could have been two entities responsible, either the Syrian regime or the Russian government,” Ben Rhodes, White House spokesman, said. “In any event, we hold the Russian government responsible for airstrikes in this space.”

Two US officials had earlier said they had intelligence confirming that two Russian Sukhoi SU-24 warplanes were in the skies above the aid convoy at the precise time it was struck, and that the conclusion was that Russia was to blame.

In a further suggestion of Russian involvement in the attack, its defence ministry said on Tuesday that the convoy had been accompanied by a militants’ pickup truck armed with a heavy mortar gun, Russian news agencies reported.

The ministry uploaded to YouTube what it claimed was drone footage of the convoy which showed “new details” about the incident.

“All the evidence suggests the Russians were involved in bombing the aid convoy as an act of revenge for the coalition air strike at the weekend which killed 60 Syria soldiers,” said a senior coalition official. “If this can be proved, then the Russians could find themselves facing war crimes charges.”

So, the Russians could find themselves facing war charges for bombing a UN convoy that also included Syrian rebels, but nothing comes from the ‘accidental’ bombing of Syrian soldiers by the U.S.? This is intellectual laziness on behalf of the clowns who released this statement.

Due to the bombing, the UN has canceled all humanitarian aid to Syria and one of their officials  took this occasion to place ISIS terrorists on a moral and ethical high ground by suggesting the greater evil in the region was  Assad’s army.

“The United Nations has been forced to suspend aid convoys as a result of this outrage,” Mr Ban said.

“The humanitarians delivering life saving aid were heroes. Those who bombed them were cowards.”

Mr Ban blamed all the international players backing the warring sides, which would include Russia as well as the US, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

“Powerful patrons that keep feeding the war machine also have blood on their hands,” he said.

“Present in this hall today are representatives of governments that have ignored, facilitated, funded, participated in, or, even planned, and carried out atrocities inflicted by all sides of Syrian conflict against Syrian civilians.”

But he singled out Syria for a stinging rebuke.

“Many groups have killed many innocents, but none more so than the government of Syria,” Mr Ban said.

This is good for at least 50 spoos.

The Market is Long Overdue a Sharp Sell Off

Any readers of my site know that I am an avid promoter of the Exodus predictive algorithms. What exactly do they entail? Aside from 500,000 lines of code, we run 125,000 computations per hour, taking in a sundry of data points from both fundamental and technicals schools of thought, alongside a sophisticated forward PE ranking system and using historical market correlations in treasuries, commodities and currencies against the market to produce the world’s best market intelligence platform–hands down.

Having said that, the last Overall market oversold signal occurred in July, before that in March.

On one of the main macro ETFs, QQQ, the last oversold signal was in early March. That’s six months ago, unprecedented.

It’s time for a reversion to the mean.

Donations from Hedge Funds to Hillary Clinton Tower Over Donald Trump’s

It’s also worth noting, she’s crushing him in the healthcare donation racket too. Many of you are disillusioned to believe she’ll be tough on big pharma.

WRONG.

pharma

When it comes to Wall Street, she’s the Queen Bee, reigning supreme over all others. I wonder why that is?

Senator Warren Skewers Stumpf: ‘If You Have Nothing to Do, What Are You Doing Serving as Chairman of the Board?’

These hearings are designed to make it look like our government are tough lawmakers and looking out for the small guy. Truth is, the CEO of Wells Fargo left this hearing and went to defecate on Elizabeth Warren’s front lawn.

The banksters own congress and they’ll never do anything to materially hurt them. Sure, they might fine them or introduce regulations to limit their depravity. But at the end of the day, Stumpf and people like him will continue to collect immense bonuses, as his henchmen grind away at the little guy trying to capture a small window of the American dream.

Grant, that was a bit melodramatic. I do have a flair for it, especially when it comes to fuckers like Stumpf–Warren Buffett’s personal catamite.

WFC is higher by 1.6% for the day, straight stuntin’ on the fucktards in Congress.

What if the Fed Hikes Rates?

If the Fed surprises with a rate hike, markets should drop by 500. This is a very low probability trade, but might be worthwhile of a lotto ticket. No one is expecting the Fed to hike and they’ll most likely do nothing. But in the event they do and the black swan even materializes, volatility will skyrocket through the roof, AND MORE.

Some quick back of the envelope trades heading into Thursday are long UVXY, long QQQ puts and if you’re really into this theme, long DUST.

Higher rates means strong dollar, gold down the drain, oil sharply lower, bonds down, stocks down, pain up.

Now if the market really gets hit, there is a chance that TLT will rise, as investors flee for safety. But judging by the recent action, I think everything will go down.

Are you doing anything ahead of Fed day?
