On A Sunday?

There I was today, in my temple, jumping upon platforms, throwing things, swinging things, and lifting the heaviest of weight, when my phone– which I was using to listen to motivational music –starts ringing. Who would be calling me, as I had previously talked to my parents, and everyone else uses email. It’s a friend of mine, probably just wanting to chat, so I hit reply with text, “At the gym.” To which I received the reply, “You’re always at the gym. On a Sunday, why?” It’s the thing I most look forward to all day, whether it’s lifting, plyos, sprints, stairs, etc. Instead of looking down on this, maybe he should get motivated by it. This brings me to my next point.

Maybe this has something to do with why I no longer go on Facebook, but once in a blue moon, and am happy spending my days upon Twitter. “This” is folks wanting to talk about meaningless bullshit. I go on FB and it’s the most worthless garbage, the same with going to bars lately. Do I like talking sports and politics, we all know I do, but the only thing worse than an “expert” that won’t keep their mouth shut, is someone who pretends to be an “expert,” but has no clue what they are talking about. I have no time for conversing with people over subject matter where they have not done their research.

Just today I witnessed this guy telling his wife and mother-in-law that a ’65 Mustang Convertible with a straight six was a “’58 Mustang, the first year they had no fins, and this one has the big block HEMI.” Are you serious? Go luck up Mustangs if you don’t know what I am talking about. Saying it was a ’63 or something would be tolerable, I guess, but then throw in the HEMI and big block referencea, and I wanted to slap this dude. First off, Mustangs were not offered with a big block until the 390 in 1967, furthermore, the HEMI moniker refers to the hemispherical headed engines produced by the Chrysler Group, the closest thing Ford ever had was the 429 Super Cobra Jet. Huh? Exactly.

The last thing, do you ever get this “dude, I’m in your ‘hood, wanna meet up for a drink?” It’s never one drink, and my response generally is “I’m working.” To which I get, “You’re always working.” EXACTLY.
