2012 Winners And Losers So Far

This market is fucked and I am tired of talking about it. Let’s look back and learn, instead of trying to guess what the fuck is going to happen next.

Losers:

YELP, I still think this is a great company especially after today’s news. I simply held it at the wrong time and will look to revisit when the volatility settles down.

ZNGA, this is a piece of shit company and I stand by my write-up that it is a short. This was a FB correlation play, and we all know how that panned out.

TRIDQ, funny little value play who’s legal proceedings didn’t play out as fast as was expected. I will revisit.

AMZN, short into earnings, but why the fuck would I do that? That was bone headed as fuck, I thought for sure their margins had decreased significantly, and boy was I wrong.

Current Holdings That Are Down:

ZSTN, short, this is a Chinese burrito fraudulent piece of shit. It has not reacted in the same way the market has, my cost is at $1.75 and it is now trading around $2.40, OUCH! Their next earnings call I was going to “Einhorn” the fuck out of them, but the last time the hard earnings due, they got kicked off the NASDAQ, fired their auditors, got their shares halted, and are currently rolling with .PK on the back of their ticker. FUCK THEM.

AABVF, long, is a small cap investment fund that invests mostly in the gold mining industry. Which is currently trading at about 30% of its NAV, with a penchant for buying back shares and has a dividend. This is a great company, but my cost is at $0.59 and it is currently at $0.43. The biggest problem with small value stocks like this is they lack liquidity, it is hard to get shares to buy sometimes, and even harder to sell. Sadly, both of my uncles have cancer and one had money in my firm, but had to take it out because he couldn’t work. This was a serious pain in my ass, especially since the stock has gone down. I ended up paying him out of my pocket.

Winners:

ZNGA, shorted it into earning at $15, big fuckin win, covered at $10. Also hedged with an equal amount of puts too. This was a really epic win for me.

MSFT, long into earnings, sold the next day for like $1.50 a share profit I think.

AAPL, bought it into earnings, which they crushed, and I have added to it since. It is currently holding my book up in the green.

GMCR, shorted into earnings. No brainer there.

EOSPN, got bought and delisted. I made about $5 a share on this one, plus the accrued dividend

HEARQ, I’m still holding on to this one and waiting for their buyout to be complete.

JAKK, you can make a quick $200 on about $1800 investment. The info on this is here http://motiwalacapital.com/blog/jakk-tender-offer-gives-small-investors-a-chance-to-make-200/

FSLR, shorted this fucker into earnings as well. Was a bit reckless, but small position and it panned out.

EOSPN, JAKK, HEARQ, TRIDQ, ZSTN, and AABVF, were all ideas that the good Dr. gave me, where I did the research, or looked over his, and decided to buy. I would be very interested in discussing my thesis’ with any of you, and I look forward to it.

Now I am off to eat an cheese steak [no homo], and I was going to watch Act of Valor, but when you used to do that shit as your job, it is not the best thing to watch at night when you are by yourself, ya dig? I did however break a bench tonight at the gym with 315lbs on the bar and had it not been for MCPJ and the safety bars, I would have gotten my melon graped, look.

  1. Re: the picture…yikes.

Re: AMZN. A soliloquy of my dumbest trades (and it is lengthy) usually involves the word “earnings” mixed somewhere in there.

    Nice work so far.

I wish I could say the same for myself.

  2. The only dishonest part of this post is you being tired of talking about the market #bullshit

  3. That JAKK sounds sketch

    • I already tendered, and IB sent me a message saying that the cash will be delivered at the end of the month. I got this, then said that I wanted the shares to be tendered.

    • agreed. it is hard to take a “capital” management firm seriously that uses the pre-installed/example WordPress theme for their blog

  4. damn bro, now everyone knows I am white

  5. those running shoes are fucked up. MCPJ should do the JAKK arbitrage and use it to upgrade to some fucking snow shoes from play it again or really anything other than those cheese farms on his feet in that pic.

    • LMFAO dude!

      • I seriously can’t believe that bench broke for you and mcpj, that is insane! I would have loved to hear what the front desk person had to say about that “well…..ummm…..yeahhhh….”

        • He wasnt surprised at all, honestly.

        • We forgot to parlay that into a free membership… his response was that they were getting new equipment- right after each bench breaks I guess

    • haha, dude they were all out of velcro prison shoes at WALMART in size “BOSS”
