Top Squeeze Watchlist

Short Squeeze: If a stock starts to rise rapidly, the trend may continue to escalate because the short sellers will likely want out. For example, say a stock rises 15% in one day, those with short positions may be forced to liquidate and cover their position by purchasing the stock. If enough short sellers buy back the stock, the price is pushed even higher.

With that in mind let’s take a look at stocks with a high short percentage. I have a screen set up inside The PPT to easily identify possible runners. PPT Members: Click here and save screen to your user profile.

Let’s take a look at a few:

First up, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. [[GMCR]] . Headed to $100:

Playoff Football + Buffalo Wild Wings [[BWLD]] = 4TW:

Burritos are all the rage, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. [[CMG]] is about to preform the $100 roll:

The Buckle, Inc. [[BKE]] had a great holiday season, on strength this one could run:

MGM MIRAGE [[MGM]] I said it before and I’ll say it again, headed to $16:

Pacific Capital Bancorp [[PCBC]] is one of my favorites, a bad bank, but a great chart. This one could squeeze:

If we see strength tomorrow here are a few names I will be watching:

I like the pullback in DryShips Inc. [[DRYS]] , right back to the 50 day moving average. I like the idea of buying this and placing a stop right below the 50 day @ 6.27.

Nice pullback after the breakout, perfect entry:

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. [[GMCR]] pulling right back to support, I like this on strength:

Las Vegas Sands Corp. [[LVS]] is one I bought on Tuesday. Some positive notes on the group. Watch the 18.50 level:

And, here is a small cap I’m watching National Coal Corp. [[NCOC]] :

I like the idea of buying one of my favorite solar stocks, Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (ADR) [[STP]] right here, with a stop right below support around 7.68. Set your stop and forget about it.

[[BIOF]] had a strong breakout today, and is now testing a recent high of $4.13. This one can still run ala. [[PEIX]] . $4.13 is the lvel to watch:

CDC Corporation [[CHINA]] is a name I took a position in today, watch for continued momentum tomorrow:

Watch for another breakout in Capstone Turbine Corporation [[CPST]] :

Flotek Industries, Inc. [[FTK]] is ready to explode. RC gives his blessing on the name, and will buy more above 1.68:

Hey Chuck, I hope you still own Gushan Environmental Energy Limited [[GU]] , it’s fixing to BTFO:

If oil gets moving [[PDO]] will be a runner:

Spartan Motors, Inc. [[SPAR]] Love this setup, a move above $7 is a must buy in my opinion:

There are so many bullish plays setting up that I may need help following them. Right now on my immediate buy watch list, I have over 70 candidates! That’s right 70! The semis are still smoking hot, ranging from large cap names like QUALCOMM, Inc. [[QCOM]] down to smaller names like [[CNXT]] . Both stocks look fantastic. Let’s take a look at the respective 9 month and the 2 year charts.

QUALCOMM, Inc. [[QCOM]] hit a 52 week high today, and I’m looking for a near term price target of $57.

2 year chart– headed back to 2yr high @ $56. Also, note the inverse head and shoulders, it shows up well in the 2 year chart
