Could this be the season of the #1 seeds? They all made quick work of their matchups in the Sweet 16…even UCLA, despite trying everything in its power to lose a game, managed to slink into the Elite 8.
But they will all have their work cut out for them if they have aspirations to make this the first Final Four with all #1 seeds.
On paper, Kansas has the easiest matchup, but Stephen Curry is inhuman and could easily drop another 30 point game. I’m thinking he may need 40-50 to lead Davidson past Kansas, though…
UNC & UCLA both face #3 seeds…Xavier has looked shaky at times, while Louisville has arguably played some of the best basketball in the tourney. That one should be a classic.
Then there is Memphis. Many (including me) had them as the worst #1….yet they put on a clinic against the Spartans. Texas, sadly, did much the same against Stanford.
