Entering the BIOSphere

biosphere

Breathe in, breathe out…

___________________________

Rather than torment you with additional gold and silver picks you should have purchased months ago (like Allied Nevada Gold Corp. [[ANV]] and [[CDE]] to mention two non-Jacksons that have been knocking the leather off the Rawling’s “A-Roid Style”) I figured I’d revisit two recommendations I still like and think will make a move as soon as tomorrow.

The first is [[BIOS]] which is a pharmaceutical management company that I’ve mentioned before, and which I think is finally ready to make it’s debut in high-falutin’ BTFO Society.    Below is the daily to show how close it came today to breaking out.   I think with the Apple Inc. [[AAPL]] news, we may have our chance to trip the light fantastic.   Earnings are slated for October 30th (a Friday) and I think we’ll have a run before that date.

What’s nice is that this breakout area as shown will likley be returned to — however briefly — for the requisite “bounce.”    If we don’t break tomorrow, you can see the rising support trend line for additional entry targets:

biosdaily

And here is BIOS’s weekly, showing the free air gap available to almost $8.70.   Again, I expect it will pull back at that point, but I like this name, and this company for the long haul here as well:

bioswkly

Second, Goin’ Fawr, the Canadian Loon, mentioned the rare metals today.  True, they’ve been hot.   Sociedad Quimica y Minera (ADR) [[SQM]] allows for some lithium investment while also being a great way to play agriculture (including potassium and nitrate fertilizers) South American style.    Like Aracruz Celulose SA (ADR) [[ARA]] , SQM can be an alternative to POT and MOS by avoiding nasty dollar based currency associations.

Dig the muy importante 61.8% long term fibonacci level at $39.89.   Gentlemen, if there were anything that I could drill into your heads, it would be the importance of achieving, and then beating that line.

We’ve achieved– you can see in September, we briefly broke above $40.

We’ve retreated these last few weeks while beginning to build “mo” again.

Gentlemen (and ladies, let’s not forget the lovely lovely ladies), I think we are ready to go, maybe as soon as tomorrow.

Dig the scenario, Daddy-o:

sqmwk

Tomorrow should be momentous for the above stocks, as they are poised, as it were “on the edge of a knife.”

Let your vorpel blades be sharpened.

Snicker-snack.

Snicker-snack.

Platinum is making a stealthy late night move on the catch-up. It’s up over $24 as I type this.

Keep an eye on PTM for the breakout.

Saw that … s/b good news for my ANO!

IPI has been good to me in the ag sector … what do your charts tell you regarding resistance on this one? Can it get to 35?

You gotta couple a things here…

First, you basically closed right on your first fib yesterday from the long term fib chart (2 years, 6/28/08 high to 3/5/09 low, which was a double bottom of a 10/22/08 low, btw), which is the 23.6% fibonacci line, at $28.64.

You may see a pullback from there, given that’s a long term fib.

Second, you’re coming into minor resistance at $29 as well. Then more major resistance in the $31 area. If you get past that, the next top is around $34, then you’re home free on a breakout.

      Fasten your seatbelt for now.

You realize there are a number of non-gold Jacksons, yes?

      ANDE
      MON
      PAAS
      SLV
      SLW
      SSRI
      TBT
      TC
      TCK

In fact, most of them are not gold.

Sorry I should have said precious metals in general, not a big fan of silver either although I hate it less than gold.

Yes, there are ones that are not but you tend to concentrate on those.

Imagine that… most of them are up 100%+ since the Fall ’08 lows.

From May 1st, however (when I started blogging), ANDE is up the most (124.8%+), and it doesn’t have a whit of precious in it.

You want winners or you want a variety show?

Apparently you didn’t buy any uranium. Thanks for that. 🙂

Finally got out of one POS in the green, but just barely.

Now, I’m looking for a better uranium company.

Jake, I think after your post on NGAS and Fly’s most recent post on a very, very cold winter, I am going to buy more NGAS. Now this one is in my daughters account, so I don’t really care how long it takes to pay off.

NGAS is pretty risky… not sure I’d buy it for a kid’s account.

I might advise CHK or APA instead.

        ________

UEC is a decent uranium play… but that might’ve been what you got out of?

No, UEC I would have kept.

NGAS is risky, I know. I will watch it closely.

    Jake-
An answer to your post on fly’s blog yesterday—-

I am on the West Coast, but I was born and raised down the bayou in Louisiana. I’ve been a Saints fan for life and although its been mostly despair, This year the offense looks unstoppable and the defense is tightening up with every game they play, so this may be our year as long as they protect Drew and the defense stays healthy. When Drew has time he will pick any defense apart

I agree, Brees has the best head on his shoulders since Archie down there.

They have some great receivers too including Moore and Hofstra (Lawn Guyland) University’s own Colston.

I’d be interested to see how they do when it gets chilly and they have to play outside…

Anybody playing XTXI or CMZ for a NG angle? XTXI was one I held and sold a few weeks back, but it’s surging again.

What price point do you like on the pullback? I had 4.75 on my chart last time, but fell asleep at the wheel and missed the move. I like it for a longer term play.

Nibble @ $5.25 (est’d future 20 dma), then $4.45 (est’d future 50 dma) ….the 50/100/200 may all be convening in that 4-4.25 area on this dip providing good long term support. Looking to take 25% followed by 50% and then 25% if 100or 200 dma is hit for a longer term play.
