    Thanks again Chess, my theory hasn’t played out as i thought. On a day like today i was thinking gold&silver would have been up big, it has me re-thinking my short-term seasonal strategy, even though my positions remain very positive for 2014. I wonder if something big is churning below the surface, financials getting killed & all these currency and credit spread issues.
    all to be re-assessed monday

    Short TLT? One of the few ETFs that is holding up in this environment? Seems a little odd to me. Bonds have been trading almost in step with gold, so you can’t really be bullish on one and bearish on the other.

      I know you’ve made that argument before. I am still flat bonds here, not short yet. I am operating under the thesis the 10-year is in a new bear after a three-decade bull. Re: Gold, still a lot to prove there for a major bottom.

    Nice recap. I’m liking the pnra short here as well. Yen and Em currencies are key here. China also playing a role with a big wmp set to default on jan 31. Keep that in mind. Look at Turkish lira for fast money tell on intl capital flows. Kinda like rupee a few months ago. And can’t forget about Europe. Markets there have led the way down….when do the momo plays get killed? Ibb, tsla, etc.

      Another to look for for is $BA. Fell out of the multi month uptrending channel dating back to late 2013. Aerospace really taking beating
