Saturday Night at Chess Cinemas

Regardless of your politics during this government shutdown, All the President’s Men (1976) is a fine film and gripping drama about the infamous Watergate scandal.

In my view, what makes the film stand out is the incredible adapted screenplay (from the book by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein) by the legendary William Goldman, who won an Oscar for his effort.

From imdb.com:

Reporters Woodward and Bernstein uncover the details of the Watergate scandal that leads to President Nixon’s resignation.

The fact that Nixon did not need to quit is the mystery of the whole thing. Wtf was he thinking? Nixon simply panicked.

The entire Watergate scandal is a joke. Compare it to any scandal since. Blow jobs, crony capitalism gone full retard, war machine, crack babies, the list is fucking endless. Nixon was a saint.

Redford is a brilliant actor. Howerver, it’s hard for me to watch him in the same light today after the many crazy leftist comments that he has made over the past 20 years. He’s a political loon.
