Scent of a Woman (1992) is the type of film which took another viewing or two in order for me to really appreciate it. You might argue it is an Al Pacino “vehicle,” but either way it grows on you much like the character he portrays does. Indeed, Pacino won Best Actor for his role of Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade, the a blind and feisty military veteran.
By the end, you will have no choice but to say “Hoo-ha!”

Great suggestion, this is one of my favorite.
Cheers!
It’s a good one.
Ok, it’s a chestnut…but if you really think about it, he’s done MUCH better performances than this…Gfather, GFather II, (forget 3), Serpico, Glen Gary Glen Ross (same year as this flick, btw) that will stand the test of time. This Oscar was a reward for the cumulative work he’s done.
Come on Chess. The guy peaked in Godfather II. Does anyone really believe that characters as obnoxious as Pacino is in most of his over-acted characterizations could exist in the real world without having the crap beat out of him by every other person he meets?
One of the best!
