Short Ebay/long MELI is a pair trade idea I have been thinking over for a while now. I shorted Ebay briefly for a quick win inside 12631 a few weeks back, and am considering returning to the well. Looking at the updated daily charts below, I continue to like the thesis, with capital presumably rotating from the North American to the South American version of an online auction/retailer.

O, also, I’m poaching $EBAY as a long:
Fundamentally, I love it. The daily chart shows a H&S having just met right shoulder resistance, now falling toward neckline ~$49.50. I won’t buy until it makes a definitive move down there.
I expect it’ll break that neckline support, so I should get a chance to buy relatively cheaply. I expect that because there’s a multiyear Cup & Handle (going back to 2004) with $57 rim; this pullback is part of the handle formation therein.

I’d concur, and I obviously think it’s a good short for a few points, but that’s a difference in style/strategy–I try not to short that which has good fundamentals. Good luck
