Last fall I noted the emergence of the Canadian benchmark after being essentially destitute for quite some time. Despite the subsequent correction into November, all it amounted to was a higher low. Updates the weekly S&P/TSX chart below, we can see that the 12,800 level is now within striking distance for a major, multi-year breakout.
As a result, I am taking a close look at Canadian banks and ag firms.
