With AMRN up roughly 94% (!) while the broad market tumbled today, the idea of playing Biotechnology stocks seems increasingly tempting, especially given their outperformance over the past few weeks. IBB, the ETF for Biotechs, looks to be in a clear uptrend. If you simply must play Biotechs, but are scared to dabble in inidividual plays given their propensity for being hand grenades, then IBB appears to be the sensible candidate.

Awaiting Canadian partnership news for their approved (in Canada) ED drug Vitaros – could come any day now (Company stated sometime in 2Q’11) from a “top 5 pharmaceutical company”.
Could also be buyout candidate.

I’ve been watching this sector and knowing nothing about it except that it can be volatile I’m mostly interested in the XBI. Chess, any comments that etf??
It can be played if it gets momo tomorrow. Otherwise, it is a bit extended for swing traders here. However, the uptrend cannot be denied. I’d wait for a better entry but would stalk it.
