The Lakers Win

I’m pulling for a LeBron/Kobe matchup in the championship so it’s good to see the Lakers win tonight. As far as the market goes, we’re still up in the last 3 days and the NASDAQ is still above it’s 200 day, nothing to see here.

Biotech, smallcaps, & commodities continue to be a nice place to hide your money. My holdings in Biotech are VVUS, NVAX, CTIC, & XOMA. In oil, I own a bunch of DXO and a smidge of WTI. As far as small caps, I will continue to watch for breakouts and feel like it is a great place to look for intraday trades.

I am still seeing bullish setups in the small cap arena, and will be looking to buy the following names on strength:

AHD, APL, ARM, ARTG, CAST, CHLN, CHRS, CNO, CTIC, CSUN, FNSR, GPK, GRRF, GU, HGSI, LVLT, PLLL, QELP, RAD, SONS, THC, & XTXI.

I will looking to purchase [[HL]] with continued strength in Gold & Silver. Technically, the stock looks poised to breakout, it might be wise to keep it on your radar.

The double bottom is one of my favorite setups to daytrade on a nasty open. A great example can be found by reviewing LDK’s 5 min intraday chart.

Do you see the double bottom @ $8.50? This gives you a great place to buy with a clear exit point. You want to place your stop trigger right below the double bottom price, once set, you are now free to let the stock run while risking very little capital.

On big down days, such as this morning, I like to run screens to see what’s trading higher on above average volume.
