It’s correct. Two reverse splits 1:4 and 1:10.

“First, the newest blip on CTIC’s radar is yesterday’s appointment of Jonathan Symonds, director of investment banking at Goldman Sachs, as deputy CFO of Novartis. He was formerly Chief Financial Officer of AstraZeneca, a pharmacy company now trading over $100/share. Needless to say he knows a thing or two about acquisitions and investments. Understanding that Novartis will have its choice of position on CTIC Pix, some investors are assuming his influence now increases the possibility of a Novartis buyout of CTIC.

In the case of a buyout, I expect that CTIC should be equal valued somewhere around half the current value of Novartis. As any CTIC long investor will tell you, a buyout would mean incredible, immediate explosion far beyond any level we’ve seen thus far.”

Half the current value of novartis (90 bil)? A 45 bil market cap huh? For what? ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH? That would put CTIC @ roughly $75 a share. Hey the jan 2010 2.50 calls are still .05 on the ask. Open interest is almost 200k. lol

  9. wtf

I am sorry in my staggering disbelief I regretfully miscalculated. A 45 bil market cap would leave CTIC a couple bucks shy of $100 per share. lotto indeed

Ragin/CA, Please keep in mind that some of us work full-time and cannot watch the market, visit blogs, and benefit from joining the PPT. However, that’s okay and I’m not whining here … wish I could watch the market and join PPT, but I do have a good job, a family to support, and the benefits of family medical insurance is great!! Cannot let the full time job go. My point here, if you guys could throw (or keep throwing) us full time workers a ‘bone’ once and a while it would be appreciated. Have a great day trading tomorrow. (Reminder: the market is closed Monday for Memorial Day, its spring and many traders will go on a long weekend trip, so profit taking is Thursday and/or Friday.) Thanks for all your posts Ragin and CA. Ragin, watch out for the Alabama Crimson Tide this Fall.

I just checked out that link WTF posted from the collegestock.com guy. He goes on to infer that CTIC is a mess waiting to happen and is an excellent shorting candidate…. However, he is a little confusing to read.

“so in my opinion Dendreon (DNDN) and Cell Therapeutics (CTIC) are two of the best opportunities for short selling right now. If either were to get acquired and make good on their inflated pricing you’d lose your shirt on this trade, but the odds are strong for these two, and I stand on the side of probability.” quoted from that link…

Not sure what he’s saying. Short now with a chance they could run to 90$?! Can’t just be me, the guy is confusing….

I mean, i see where he’s coming from but if CTIC get the buyout it’s gonna rip like no other has ripped this year….
