I know what you’re saying. The media was so hyped on NO that they basically ignored the rest of Louisiana (and coastal MS, AL). I imagine Baton Rouge and the enviros got hammered.

Don’t even get me started on the media, all they want to do is talk about how New Orleans came out ok. The whole state is in disarray!!

More than half the state is without power.
Gustav was a silent beast.
Yeah, the media was disgraceful, it wasn’t a Katrina2 for New Orleans so they basically just said oh well and ignored any further news on damage from Gustav. I had a suspicion lots of people were still without power. I had a lot of the same feelings after going without power for so long after Wilma, it seemed like the national media was ignoring the problems.
Most importantly your family is ok though.
My family is ok, however I lost a friend who was a brother to me. He was my best man in my upcoming wedding. He was killed in a car accident.
He will be missed.
So much going on in my neck of the woods. Like I said, I have much to tell.

On another note, lots of southern and central Arkansas are w/o power also, and there is plenty of flash flooding. Of course, I will be out floating white water this weekend …
