CF: CF Industries Holdings, Inc.

[[CF]] is broken. Here is another stock that made the watchlist that you didn’t get to see. I also had [[ODP]] on the video as well, hat tip to Martan. Damn YouTube, it was my best video yet.

Nice, looks like ags are finally breaking. I just took down pot puts before reading this. Both could be some big bucks. After struggling to find many longs, I determined that I needed some plays to bet against that would still work well if the market rallied. Energy and fertilizers seem like the plays, which seems very backwards from what things have been lately but I think it’ll work.

    DUGs moving big

ODP is a great example of a stock that’s been murdered, dug up and murdered again.

  6. POT To $300

The fertilizer bulls will say the January break in the fertilizer names was steeper than either this one or the April break.

The bears will say the difference this time is ’09 earnings estimates have been taken up over 100% since the January and April breaks, so further estimate revisions will likely be much smaller in magnitude. I think this is the correct argument.

But no way are earnings going to collapse. I think we’ll see between 10%-20% more upside to ’09 estimates. If I’m right, then after 20%-25% valuation corrections, we may be close to the bottom of the valuation correction in the names. But the parabolic up move in the stock prices is probably over, at least until we get a better feel for how corn prices respond to the fall harvest expectations, which we’ll know in Aug/Sept.

“Pot To $240” is probably a more appropriate name for the time being.

RBC Capital says POT to $340. They say you’re off by $100 now, or $40 based on your old moniker.

  8. POT To $300

    True.

And there were analysts with $1000 price targets on AMZN and QCOM back in the tech nuttiness, and at least one $1000 target on GOOG more recently.
