You think it will fill the gap?
I was short when it was $65 down to about $55, got out too early. It’s been awhile, you think the 100+ PE will hold the share price down?
Chart looks good though. Strong support at $35.
Strong stock for emerging Latin America market.
I always wonder when the “emerging market” has “emerged” or whatever. Especially when I see the huge swings on the Bovespa.
Seems eBay owns a chunk of the action as well.

Nice to see Argentina coming out of it’s economic winter after telling IMF to take a hike.
Cuervo:
Thanks for the article.
Where are the futures hidden now Cajun? I know they’re here somewhere…
I really would like to tell you, but then my page would be laser beamed.
Not to disturb the MELI love party, but have any of you looked at any of the Mercado Libre auction sites? Some countries appear to have poor market penetration, even Mexico, surprisingly. One day years from now this will be a fabulous business, right now it is not, compared to Ebay itself. Why is it not working the way Ebay did when Ebay burst upon the scene here? As best as I can figure out, it’s due to three things:
1) insufficient number of potential customers in some countries have credit cards (or even bank accounts), making payment for items difficult. I don’t have access to recent figures myself, so I can’t prove it to you, but credit is not near universal as it is in the US and Europe. The banking figures I did find on the internet from the early 2000’s were shocking low.
2) cultural differences, meaning sale and purchase of second hand goods is still associated (negatively) with being lower class or poor. Class divisions in Latin American societies are much more pronounced than in the US.
3) Middle classes are growing, but are still insufficient in the number of people needed to provide a healthy target market, except perhaps in Brazil.
However, none of these comments means a hill of frijoles, if you are trading the momentum or technicals only, and care not for the fundamentals of the business. Could be a good trade, not too much under the covers for a near term investment. JMHO.
As an example… last weekend I searched on the Mexico Mercado Libre site for Taxco silver jewelry, made in Taxco Mexico. You’d think I could find some, but noooo…. nothing. There is more Mexican Taxco jewelry for sale on Ebay in the US, a wide variety in fact. Not a good situation.
meant to say Brazil and Argentina in point number 3, sorry.
Boca,
Solid points, but I’m not in this for an investment, the trade works here, right now.
Yep, I understand, and you’re a good trader.
Guess I was just feeling guilty if I didn’t ‘fess up up what I knew about the basics on this company.
thanks for the comments, hope to see you more over here.
Boca-
There is no excuse for you not to be posting in the PG.
Hell, no one reads Cajun’s blog anyway.
