We’re getting blown by tropical storm Debby over at Siesta Key Beach. I’m telling you that right now, this beach is definitely NOT the best beach in America. In fact, just about any other beach in America is likely better. I hadn’t planned to do a lot of blogging over this week, but it is looking like the tropical storm rain and wind is going to stick around for days. This definitely sucks. Perhaps the only redeeming factor of the “vacation” is that I have lots of family staying here too. My children will thankfully not be too bored couped up indoors since they have cousins to play with.

That does suck. Lived near Charleston, SC for a while so know how that goes with being near the beach. Unfortunately can’t control the damn weather.

Wow never knew that but that’s good to know. No never talked about it from what I can remember. Worked for Charleston County in the mid-2000’s before I moved to PA. Went to Isle of Palms & Sullivan’s Island often for the beach scene.
I spent nearly 10 years in Los Angeles, where we never had a good Florida style storm. Enjoy it for what it is. You are spending time with family, and that is what matters.

funny, i just looked up siesta key beach. all the pics r sunny, with people enjoying the sun. lol. im sure it will change for u soon. the weather channel always shows rain here, but it is usually wrong.

You migrated the wrong direction Shed. I just unhooked the 5th wheel after a week at the beach by the Mackinaw Straits. Weather was great. Lake Michigan was warm…as Lake Michigan goes. Steaks over the campfire were fabulous. Kids had a blast catching fish and doing the tourist trap junk in the city. All in all a great week. Shoulda’ been North instead of South.
