At 3:30 today, subscribers received an email alerting them to any open position that was trading above its exit threshold, so that they could close the trade at the close (assuming it stayed above its exit threshold).
For the Visually Stimulated…
Here is a look at some of the recent winners:
All trades are assumed to be opened at the open and closed at the close. The buy was made at the green up arrow with the sell represented by the red down arrow.
Very nice – one trade is worth the price of admission for the whole year!
Does it also give sell signals to ride it down?
It doesn’t go short. I’ve been working on a short selling complimentary system, but short selling systems are fraught with difficulty. Stocks don’t respond the same way to overbought conditions they way they respond to oversold conditions. Plus, there are no guarantees that you could have actually gotten a borrow on the shares so it makes the backtesting results questionable.
mama fricken mia,thatsa alota tomatoes

can i give them a hint?
there are no vowels in this ticker.
Thanks Boone!
Hey, but there is one letter in the ticker that is sometimes a vowel!
haha well now you’re just giving it away.
by the way, you read this?

at the time it was realtime proof / results going along with your recent findings (that shared a similar blog post title). Or refindings, as they’ve already been discovered in the papers you cited. But hey, it still news to a lot of people.
my take on the momentum anomaly is that momo stocks will continue to have it if conditions are ripe.
Agreud.
The difficulty is holding on long enough to give a chance of capturing the anomaly without exposing a bunch of open long positions to a significant market correction.
Wood and Danny,
Just to let you know, it’s great to have you quantitative guys on the team.
While TA seems to work, much of the time, I really appreciate the quantitative and odds based approach very much.
I think ultimately these differing ways to look at the market can complement one another.
In any case Wood, when I go on vacation next week to Vegas, I plan to limit my trading to your approach only.
As you’ve said before, you really don’t have to spend a lot of time scratching your head trying to figure out what to do.
The Power Dip is great for every day trading and especially great for those vacations when you’re suppose to be somewhat less preoccupied with the market, which all of us addicts know is a challenge!
Keep us the good work guys!!
simply splendid.
