Thursday’s strength came in right on time. On today’s open CNK, EQIX, and VRX will be sold.
On Thursday, GRO stopped out.
These changes leave four open positions in the model portfolio. Therefore, on Friday’s open the system will purchase TSRA, WRC, ADCT, and SLAB.
Later this morning I will have the spreadsheet updated with the actual buy/sell prices and will post it below.
I am also going to make a few more comments about the system, so be sure to check this post later for the updates.
What about the markets woody? Do you tend to take a macro or sector view and form a bias there, before going to the individual stocks?
Mike, I try to not let a macro market view influence me at all. However, I’m human, so it still does.
I do note the sector a stock is in before I play it, but it doesn’t affect anything.
Only one system I trade trades the overall market direction, and so I am keenly aware of what I think the market will do, but when it comes to individual stocks, I must take the signals presented, regardless of a macro bias.
However, lets say I have 5 long positions and I think the market will correct, and I get 10 short signals, I made take more than normal, or more than I’ve backtested to take, even going on margin, to balance out the longs. Still, I try not to do that as often I’m wrong. That is why I trade systems, because without them, I’m often wrong.
